Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) Doctors Recruitment 2026 - 24 Posts

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), India's largest oil and gas exploration Maharatna PSU, has released Advertisement No. 3/2026 (R&P) for engaging 24 Doctors on a fixed-term basis up to 30 June 2028 across its hospitals and health centres. The recruitment covers three post types — Medical Officer (Occupational Health), Specialist doctors at the Dehradun and Sivasagar hospitals, and Medical Officer (Homeopathy) — spread across ONGC's asset locations in different states. There is no written exam for this recruitment — selection is based on a qualification assessment and a personal interview. MBBS graduates, PG medical specialists, and BHMS doctors looking for a well-paying assignment at a Maharatna public sector company should apply before the deadline. Working with ONGC also means access to a large government hospital network, structured career engagement, and the credibility of India's biggest oil and gas exploration company on your resume. ONGC runs its own network of hospitals and health centres for employees and their families at its major asset locations, and the doctors hired through this drive will staff that network.

Vacancy Breakdown by Discipline

  • Medical Officer (Occupational Health): 14 posts
  • Specialist (Dehradun & Sivasagar Hospitals): 8 posts
  • Medical Officer (Homeopathy): 2 posts

The Occupational Health posts carry the highest number of vacancies, making them the best bet if you are an MBBS graduate looking for your first government medical assignment. The Specialist posts at Dehradun and Sivasagar hospitals suit doctors who already hold a postgraduate qualification, while the Homeopathy posts are limited to just 2 openings for BHMS-qualified candidates.

Who Can Apply?

For Medical Officer (Occupational Health):

  • You need an MBBS degree with valid registration from the Medical Council of India or a State Medical Council.

For Specialist (Dehradun & Sivasagar Hospitals):

  • You need an MD/MS/DNB or PG Diploma in the relevant specialty with valid medical registration.

For Medical Officer (Homeopathy):

  • You need a BHMS degree with valid registration from the Central Council of Homeopathy or a State Board.

Whichever post you apply for, you must hold a valid and current medical registration on the date of application — this is checked at the document verification stage, so keep your registration certificate renewed and ready.

Age Limit

  • There is no maximum age limit for any of the posts under this recruitment.

This is unusual for most government jobs, so even senior doctors and specialists who are past the typical age cut-off for regular recruitment can apply for these fixed-term positions.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get an annual CTC ranging from Rs. 7.80 lakh to Rs. 15.60 lakh in the first year, depending on the post and qualification (roughly Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 1,30,000 per month).
  • The CTC increases in the second year of engagement.

Specialist doctors and those with higher postgraduate qualifications can expect to be placed at the higher end of this CTC range, while Medical Officers in Occupational Health and Homeopathy will typically fall in the lower-to-mid range.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Unlike most government medical recruitments that involve a written test, ONGC has kept this process short. The selection will be done in 2 stages:

  1. Qualification Assessment: Your educational qualifications and experience are scored out of 70 marks.
  2. Personal Interview: You will be interviewed for the remaining 30 marks. The final merit list is prepared out of 100 marks.

Because there is no written test, your academic record and clinical experience carry significant weight in the qualification assessment stage, so make sure your application clearly lists your degrees, registration details and any prior work experience.

How to Apply

  1. Go to the ONGC careers portal at ongcindia.com.
  2. Find the online registration link for Advertisement No. 3/2026 (R&P).
  3. Register and select one post-location combination you are eligible for.
  4. Fill in your personal details, qualifications and experience.
  5. Upload your photograph, ID proof and educational certificates.
  6. Submit the form before the deadline and keep a printout for your records.
  7. Track your application status and any communication from ONGC through the same portal login.

Keep scanned copies of your MBBS/MD/MS/DNB/BHMS degree certificate, medical registration certificate, photograph and identity proof ready before you start filling the form — this will help you complete the online application without last-minute delays.
