MITRA Deputy Project Director (MUWREP) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA) is the state's apex think tank that engages sector-wise technical and administrative experts on deputation or contract basis. For its World Bank-assisted Maharashtra Urban Water Supply Sanitation & Reuse Program, MITRA needs an experienced professional to lead day-to-day project management and coordinate with Multilateral Development Banks. This is a senior, high-paying contract position ideal for people who have worked on large development projects with government and funding agencies.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's degree in Economics, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Finance, or a related field. A degree from a reputed (Tier 1) institution is preferred.
• Experience: You need 15 years of relevant work experience in project management, policy research, development programmes, or consulting.
• Experience relaxation: The experience requirement drops to a minimum of 5 years if you have worked with a Multilateral Development Bank (World Bank, ADB, etc.) or led MDB-assisted projects.
• Work experience with government departments, development agencies, consulting firms, or research institutions is preferred.
• Skills in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, project monitoring, and report writing are desirable.

Salary

• You will get a fixed salary of Rs. 3,00,000 per month.
• This is a contract engagement for an initial period of 2 years, extendable based on your performance and the programme needs, up to the project term or a maximum of 5 years, whichever is earlier.

Selection Process

Selection is based on your qualification and experience:

You will report to the Head of the Project Management Unit (PMU) in MITRA for MUWREP.
