Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a Miniratna subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has released Notification No. 269 dated 22 May 2026 for engagement of 53 Medical Consultants on a fixed tenure contract basis. The engagement covers Specialists across 8 specialities and 35 GDMOs to serve at various MCL hospitals and dispensaries. The initial engagement period is 1 year, extendable by another 1 year based on satisfactory performance.

• ENT Specialist: 1 post
• Pulmonologist: 1 post

Consultant (GDMO) — 35 Posts

• General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO): 35 posts

MCL reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies as per requirement.

Who Can Apply?

For Consultant (Medical Specialist)

• MBBS from a recognized Institute/College approved by Medical Council of India / NMC.
• Plus a recognized Post Graduate Degree / DNB / Post Graduate Diploma in the concerned speciality.
• BDS candidates are not eligible.
• Outside Candidates (from other PSUs, Government, Private Practice) — must have a minimum of 07 years of experience in the concerned speciality.
• Retired Medical Executives of CIL/Subsidiaries are also eligible if they secured "Good" or better ratings in the last 5 years, with no CDA penalty or criminal case during service.

For Consultant (GDMO)

• MBBS from a recognized Institute/College approved by Medical Council of India / NMC.
• Outside Candidates must have minimum 03 years of experience as GDMO.
• Retired GDMOs of CIL/Subsidiaries are also eligible subject to the same service-record conditions.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 70 years during the contract period.
• The engagement automatically ends on expiry of the contract or attaining the age of 70 years, whichever is earlier.

Salary

• Consultant (Medical Specialist): Rs. 8,000 per 3-hour session. Minimum 4 visits per month mandatory. Engagement is for 2 or 3 days a week as per specialty need.
• Consultant (GDMO): Rs. 5,000 per day. Minimum 8 visits per month. Engagement is for 3 days a week.
• The honorarium is fixed and irrespective of the number of patients attended.
• Payment is made on a monthly basis based on actual attendance/visits.
• No accommodation, TA/DA, or paid leave is admissible.
• Medical facility: Self and spouse only at MCL hospitals as per MAR (retired CPRMSE beneficiaries continue under CPRMSE).

Selection Process

Selection is based on shortlisting followed by interview/walk-in-interview:

1. Application Screening: Eligible candidates fulfilling the prescribed criteria will be shortlisted.
2. Interview / Walk-in-Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates will be verified at the time of joining.

No TA will be paid for attending the interview/selection process. Mere fulfilment of eligibility does not confer any right to engagement.

• Coordinate with regular medical staff for emergency and routine cases
