Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is hiring Senior Residents for Mrs. Girdhari Lal Maternity Hospital at Ajmeri Gate, New Delhi. The hospital will engage doctors on a contractual basis against vacant Specialist posts, with each appointment linked to the relevant specialty. This distinction matters if you are looking for a regular appointment: the engagement does not give you a claim to one.

Posts and Disciplines

• Anesthesia: Senior Resident engagement in the hospital's Anesthesia specialty, against vacant Specialist posts.
• Pediatrics: Senior Resident engagement in the Pediatrics specialty at the same hospital, also against a vacant Specialist post.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: Your initial engagement lasts for one year or until the regular posts are filled, whichever happens earlier. The contract does not assure service for the full year.
• Private practice: You cannot carry out private practice during this engagement.
• Transfers: The hospital does not permit inter-hospital or inter-institutional transfers under these appointments.
• Travel costs: MCD will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.
• Service terms: Government of India and MCD service conditions apply as prescribed from time to time. The notice also allows termination without stating a reason, under the applicable terms.
• Additional assignments: The appointing authority may assign duties as needed; such assignments do not bring an extra allowance.
• Application decisions: Incomplete applications will not be considered. The competent authority retains the right to accept or reject an application.
