KRCL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - Overview

Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) has invited online applications for 190 Apprentice posts under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This is a great opportunity for fresh graduates and diploma holders to get hands-on training with Indian Railways. The training period is 1 year.

KRCL operates the Konkan Railway route along the western coast of India, covering Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka. Selected candidates will be posted at various stations and offices along this route.

Category I - Graduate Apprentice (Engineering): 80 Posts

  • Civil Engineering: 30 posts
  • Electrical Engineering: 20 posts
  • Electronics Engineering: 10 posts

Category II - Technician (Diploma) Apprentice: 80 Posts

  • Civil Engineering: 30 posts

Category III - Graduate Apprentice (General Stream): 30 Posts

  • Eligible degrees: BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BMS, BJMC, BBS

Who Can Apply?

Education Qualification

  • Graduate Apprentice (Engineering): BE or B.Tech from an AICTE-recognized university in the relevant branch
  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentice: Diploma from a recognized institution in the relevant branch
  • Graduate Apprentice (General): BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BMS, BJMC, or BBS from a UGC-recognized university
  • You must have passed your qualifying exam in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025
  • You should not have completed any apprenticeship training before

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)

  • Minimum: 18 years
  • Maximum: 25 years
  • SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation (up to 30 years)
  • OBC-NCL candidates: 3 years relaxation (up to 28 years)

Stipend Details

  • Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 9,000 per month (Rs. 4,500 from Government + Rs. 4,500 from KRCL)
  • Technician (Diploma) Apprentice: Rs. 8,000 per month (Rs. 4,000 from Government + Rs. 4,000 from KRCL)

Application Fee

  • General / OBC / EWS candidates: Rs. 100
  • SC / ST / Female / Minority candidates: No fee

Posting Locations

Selected candidates will be posted along the Konkan Railway route in these areas:

  • Maharashtra: Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg districts
  • Goa
  • Karnataka: Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada districts

Preference will be given to KRCL land losers first, then candidates from districts within KRCL jurisdiction.

Selection Process

There is no written exam or interview for this recruitment. Selection will be based on:

  1. Merit List: Based on your aggregate percentage in the qualifying exam
  2. Document Verification: You must bring all original documents for checking
  3. Medical Examination: You must be medically fit

Responsibilities

  • Attend any classroom sessions or workshops arranged during the training

Minimum Qualification

Diploma / Graduation / BE / B.Tech from a recognized university or institution. Pass-out year must be 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, or 2025. No prior apprenticeship training.

Salary & Compensation

Pay Scale

Stipend: Rs. 9,000/month for Graduate Apprentice | Rs. 8,000/month for Diploma Apprentice

Allowances

Stipend is shared equally between Government of India and KRCL. Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 4,500 (Govt) + Rs. 4,500 (KRCL). Diploma Apprentice: Rs. 4,000 (Govt) + Rs. 4,000 (KRCL).
