Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MAHA-Metro), a joint venture owned equally by the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra, is appointing two board-level operations directors for its metro network. The corporation is delivering the Nagpur, Pune and Thane metro projects and deposit work for Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1. Both appointments combine project leadership with responsibility for passenger operations, so the notice is aimed at senior officers from Metro Rail, Railways, Railway PSUs, government organisations or other PSUs.

Posts and Disciplines

• Director (Rolling Stock, System and Operations): leads rolling stock as well as systems and day-to-day operations, including coaches, depots and stations used for commercial service.
• Director (System and Operations): leads system assets and operations, with particular attention to traction, power distribution, signalling, telecommunications and operational infrastructure.

Post-wise Duties

Director (Rolling Stock, System and Operations)

You will oversee the operation and upkeep of metro coaches alongside the systems that keep stations and depots running. Your remit includes planning trained manpower for new sections, monitoring service punctuality and safety, improving energy efficiency, protecting system assets and tracking key performance indicators.

You will also guide fare-box revenue, public relations and maintenance planning for permanent way, power, signalling and telecommunications. As a board member, you will connect technical decisions with the corporation's wider project and operating priorities.

Director (System and Operations)

You will direct systems and passenger operations across MAHA-Metro projects, including traction, electrical and mechanical equipment, station facilities and depot assets. The work calls for close control of service quality, security, energy use and readiness of staff before new sections open to the public.

You will guide planning, design and maintenance coordination for permanent way, signalling and telecommunications while reporting to the Managing Director. The role also supports commercial-service performance and the safe commissioning of rail-based urban transport systems.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The appointment is on contract or deputation for five years, or until superannuation, whichever comes first.
• Future vacancy: The Director (System and Operations) position becomes vacant during the coming service cycle.
• Posting: You may work at Nagpur, Pune, Thane, Navi Mumbai or another MAHA-Metro project anywhere in India.
• Deputation approval: Officers choosing deputation must first get approval under their parent organisation's policy.
• Employer clearance: Applicants serving in Metro Rail, Railways, government bodies or PSUs must apply through the proper channel or provide a no-objection certificate when called.
• Service bond: MAHA-Metro's service-bond policy applies to selected candidates.
• Separate forms: If you want consideration for both director roles, you must send a separate application for each post.
