JKSSB Constable (Armed/IRP and SDRF) Recruitment 2026

Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has invited online applications for the post of Constable (Armed/IRP) and Constable (SDRF) under the Home Department, UT of Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 487 vacancies are available. This is a great opportunity for 10th pass candidates from J&K who want to join the police force.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) from a recognized Board.
• Age: You should be between 18 and 28 years old as on 01 January 2025.
• Domicile: You must be a domicile of UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
• Age Relaxation: SPOs/VHGs can apply up to 40 years. In-service candidates can apply up to 30 years.
• PwBD: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are not eligible for these posts.

Salary

Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month under Level-2 of the 7th Central Pay Commission. You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per J&K government rules.

Physical Standards

For Male Candidates:

• Height: 5 feet 6 inches
• Chest: 32 inches (normal) / 33.5 inches (expanded)
• Running: 1600 metres in 6 minutes 30 seconds
• Push-ups: 20

For Female Candidates:

• Height: 5 feet 2 inches
• Running: 1000 metres in 6 minutes 30 seconds
• Shot Put: 4 kg weight to a distance of 14.5 feet

Selection Process

The selection will be done in four stages:

1. Written Exam (OMR Based): 100 MCQs for 100 marks in 2 hours. Questions in English only. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
2. Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET): Candidates shortlisted at 6x vacancies per category.
3. Medical Examination
4. Document Verification

NCC Bonus Marks: C Certificate: 5%, B Certificate: 3%, A Certificate: 2%.

• Maintain law and order and assist in crime prevention duties
• Perform armed guard and patrol duties as assigned
• Respond to emergency situations including natural disasters (SDRF)
• Carry out search and rescue operations during floods, earthquakes, and other calamities (SDRF)
• Protect public property and VIPs as directed
• Participate in counter-insurgency and anti-militancy operations (IRP)
• Follow instructions of senior officers and maintain discipline
• Attend regular physical training and weapon handling drills
