DCPW Additional Director Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Directorate of Coordination Police Wireless (DCPW), which runs the police radio and communication network under the Ministry of Home Affairs, wants to fill one post of Additional Director at its headquarters in the CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. This is a deputation opening, not a fresh recruitment — only serving officers of the Central Government, State Governments or Union Territories can be considered. The post is a General Central Service, Group 'A', Gazetted, Non-ministerial post, and the vacancy itself arises only from 1 July 2027, so DCPW is planning well ahead. If you are a communications or IT officer with a long technical record in radio, computer or satellite networks, this is a senior leadership role in India's police communication set-up.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation only: you must be a regular officer of a Central, State or UT government — either holding an analogous post or with the required years of regular service in the grade just below. Private-sector candidates cannot apply.
• Technical background is a must: the post needs an engineering degree in electronics, telecom, communications, computer science or IT, or a master's in physics or computer applications, backed by ten years of hands-on communication experience.
• Tenure: the deputation is for three years at first.
• No backing out: once you are selected, you will not be allowed to withdraw your candidature, so apply only if your department can spare you.
• Pay on deputation: your pay is fixed under the DoPT O.M. No. 2/29/91-Estt (Pay-II) dated 5 January 1994, as amended from time to time.
• Incomplete files are rejected: applications that arrive late, come without APAR dossiers or certificates, or are otherwise incomplete will not be considered.
• Closing date depends on Employment News: the window runs for sixty days from the date the advertisement first appears in Employment News, so watch for the publication.
