ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - 95 Posts
The ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), a key centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation, has released Advertisement No. ISTRAC:01:2026 for 95 apprenticeship trainees. This is a one-year training programme under the Apprentices Act, 1961. ISTRAC handles satellite tracking and mission control for ISRO's missions, so trainees get real exposure to space-technology work. There is no written exam — selection is based on your academic marks and an interview, and you finish with a nationally recognised apprenticeship certificate that adds strong value to your resume.
Keep in mind that an apprenticeship is a training programme, not a permanent job. It does not guarantee employment with ISRO afterwards, but the year of practical work at a space centre gives you real skills, a monthly stipend, and a certificate that employers respect. You can apply to only one centre — Bengaluru, Lucknow, or Sri Vijaya Puram — so choose the location that suits you best before you send your email.
Vacancy Breakdown
The 95 seats are spread across three ISTRAC centres and cover four apprentice categories:
- Graduate Apprentice (B.E./B.Tech): for engineering degree holders
- Diploma Apprentice: for engineering diploma holders
- Diploma in Commercial Practice: for commercial practice diploma holders
- ITI Trade Apprentice: for ITI certificate holders in the notified trades
Disciplines on offer include Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Commercial Practice. Training centres: Bengaluru (headquarters), Lucknow, and Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair). You apply directly to the centre where you want to train.
