POWERGRID Graduate Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview
Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna enterprise under the Ministry of Power, is taking Graduate Apprentices for its Corporate Centre establishments at Gurugram and Manesar. This is a fixed-term learning assignment under the Apprentices Act, built for recent engineering graduates who want supervised exposure inside a major power-transmission company. The engagement is apprenticeship training and does not create a right to regular employment with POWERGRID.
Posts and Disciplines
- Graduate Civil: training is linked to the civil-engineering work handled by the Corporate Centre and its associated facilities.
- Graduate Electrical: training is connected with electrical systems and the technical work that supports POWERGRID's transmission operations. This trade is also identified for specified PwBD sub-categories in the detailed notice.
Post-wise Duties
Graduate Civil Apprentice
You will support engineers with civil work records, site observations and technical documentation. Your training may include checking drawings, following quality and safety practices, updating work diaries and learning how facilities are maintained in an operating public-sector company.
Graduate Electrical Apprentice
You will assist with electrical maintenance records, equipment observations and routine technical reporting. The role is meant to help you connect engineering theory with workplace procedures while following the company's safety, confidentiality and conduct rules.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Training tenure: the apprenticeship runs for one year and depends on satisfactory performance and attendance.
- Recent qualification: only candidates whose final result falls within the notification's stated two-year pass-out window can be considered.
- Single choice: apply for only one region, state and trade; multiple applications can be rejected.
- Training location: POWERGRID may assign or change the training facility for operational needs or job rotation within the Corporate Centre setup.
- Other commitments: apprentices cannot pursue a regular course or another job during the training period.
- Work records: you must keep a weekly work diary and submit it to the assigned reporting officer for recording on the apprenticeship portal.
- Company information: confidentiality and the code of conduct apply throughout training, and intellectual property created during the assignment belongs to POWERGRID.
- Travel support: no TA or DA is paid for attending document verification.
Application Submission Notes
You need an active and fully updated NATS registration or enrolment number before using POWERGRID's apprentice portal. Your Aadhaar-linked bank account should be enabled for DBT, and your name and date of birth should match across the matriculation certificate, Aadhaar and bank account. Use the Corporate Centre option and keep the registered email active because shortlisted candidates are contacted there.
