NFC Engineering Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview
Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), under the Department of Atomic Energy, is taking diploma holders and engineering graduates for one-year apprenticeship training at Hyderabad. The intake covers core engineering branches as well as electronics, computing and civil streams, giving new technical graduates a chance to learn inside a specialised central-government production complex. The engagement is training under the Apprentices Act, not an appointment to a regular NFC post.
The two apprentice groups are separated by the qualification you already hold. Diploma apprentices and graduate engineering apprentices follow their own branch lists, so you should choose the opportunity that matches both your qualification level and discipline. The notified branch totals are tentative and NFC may adjust them when operational needs change.
Posts and Disciplines
- Diploma Engineering: Mechanical, Chemical, Mechanical Draftsman, Metallurgical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, and Civil disciplines are listed.
- Graduate Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, and Chemical disciplines are included.
- Hyderabad training: All selected trainees report to NFC at ECIL Post, Hyderabad; the notice does not describe postings at other NFC units.
Post-wise Duties
Diploma Engineering Apprentice
Your practical training will follow your diploma discipline and the section assigned by NFC Hyderabad. You can expect supervised technical learning, safe use of workplace procedures, maintenance of training records and participation in the tasks given by the training section.
Graduate Engineering Apprentice
Your training will use your engineering branch in a professional production and technical environment. You will learn the section's systems, follow safety and quality controls, record your work and support technical activities under supervision; the exact section and day-to-day allocation are decided by NFC.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Training status: Completing the apprenticeship does not create a right to employment at NFC, and the notice says there is no automatic appointment after training.
- Prior apprenticeship: You cannot apply if you have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act in a government, PSU or private organisation.
- Higher study restriction: Applicants with a postgraduate qualification are not accepted for this intake.
- Reservation record: SC, ST and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) applicants must record the category during NATS registration and bring the original supporting certificate when joining.
- Accommodation: Quarters may be offered subject to availability; otherwise you must arrange your own stay.
- Contract and conduct: The selected apprentice signs a training contract. Suppressed facts, canvassing or failure to follow the contract can lead to cancellation, and an early contract termination caused by the apprentice may involve repayment of training cost.
- Joining costs: NFC does not provide TA or DA for joining.
Application Submission Notes
You must be registered on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal and apply against NFC Hyderabad using establishment code STLHDC000003. Upload the records requested by the portal and keep your registered email active because NFC uses email for shortlisting and training information.
Keep a printout of the submitted form for physical checking. Police verification for the address on your Aadhaar card should be started early because the certificate is needed when you report for the apprenticeship.
