NFC ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Overview
Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC), part of the Department of Atomic Energy, is engaging ITI trade apprentices for one year of training at Hyderabad. The drive covers production trades, electrical and electronics maintenance, chemical-plant support, computer operations and workshop services. It offers trade-trained applicants exposure to the systems and discipline of a specialised industrial establishment, but the apprenticeship is training rather than a regular NFC appointment.
The notified trade figures are tentative and may move up or down with office needs. You should apply only against the trade matching your ITI credential, using the NFC establishment entry shown on the apprenticeship portal. The training section, workplace allocation and reporting schedule will be communicated by NFC.
Posts and Disciplines
- Production and workshop trades: Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Draughtsman (Mechanical), Motor Mechanic (Vehicle), Diesel Mechanic, Carpenter, Plumber and Welder.
- Electrical, electronics and instrumentation: Electrician, Instrument Mechanic and Electronics Mechanic.
- Chemical-plant support: Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant), Chemical Plant Operator and Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant).
- Computer and office trade: Computer Operator and Programming Assistant is included; the Stenographer (English) line currently carries no opening.
Post-wise Duties
Workshop and Maintenance Apprentices
You will practise your designated trade under supervision, follow the assigned workshop routine and learn the safety and quality controls used at NFC. The exact machine, equipment or maintenance section depends on your trade and the establishment's training plan.
Chemical Plant and Laboratory Apprentices
You will learn the work practices used around chemical-plant operations and laboratory support, including careful handling, record keeping and compliance with site safety instructions. All activities are supervised as part of apprenticeship training.
Computer Operator and Programming Assistant
You will support supervised computer-based work, organise digital records and practise the tasks assigned under the COPA trade curriculum. NFC decides the final section and daily training allocation.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- No employment claim: Completing the programme does not create a right to an NFC job, and there is no automatic appointment after training.
- Prior apprenticeship: You cannot join this intake if you already completed or are currently taking apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act in any government, PSU or private organisation.
- Trade test: After completing training, an apprentice must pass the designated trade test before the Controller of Examination issues the National Apprenticeship Certificate through the portal.
- Reservation record: SC, ST and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) applicants must declare the category during NAPS registration and show the original certificate when joining.
- Accommodation: NFC may provide quarters when available.
- Contract and conduct: A selected apprentice signs a training contract. False information, canvassing or failure to follow the contract can cancel the engagement; an apprentice responsible for early termination may have to repay training cost.
- Joining costs: No TA or DA is available for joining.
Application Submission Notes
Register and apply through the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal. Search for Nuclear Fuel Complex-E11153600013, choose the trade matching your credential and keep the uploaded records clear and complete.
Keep your registered email active because NFC uses it for selection and reporting information. Bring the online-form printout for physical checking, and start police verification for the address on your Aadhaar card early because that certificate is needed when you report.
