Educational Qualification

• Postgraduate route: M.Sc. or M.Tech in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline. If your postgraduate degree is M.Sc., you need a valid NET/GATE qualification unless the M.Tech route applies.
• Undergraduate route: B.Tech or B.E. in Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Mathematics and Computing, or a related discipline with a valid GATE qualification.
• IIT/IIIT/NIT exemption: If you completed your undergraduate degree from an IIT, IIIT, or NIT, the notice says GATE/NET is not mandatory for the UG route.
• B.Sc. plus M.Sc. route: A 3-year B.Sc. followed by a 2-year M.Sc. is treated like the B.Tech/B.E. route for eligibility, so the same GATE/NET condition applies.

Technical Skills Needed

• Algorithms: Strong understanding of Data Structures, Graph Algorithms, and Analysis of Algorithms.
• Programming: Good working knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python or C++.
• Research interest: Comfort with mathematical thinking and algorithm implementation will help because the project deals with large networks and fairness constraints.
