IIT Bhilai is hiring 5 Project Assistants and Project Associates (Technical) for a MeitY-funded research project on FinTech Security with (or without) Blockchain. IIT Bhilai Project Assistant and Associate Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts

Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai), Chhattisgarh has released an advertisement to recruit 5 staff members on a temporary basis for the sponsored research project titled "FinTech Security with (or without) Blockchain". The project is sponsored by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Principal Investigator is Prof. Souradyuti Paul (Department of CSE). The initial duration is 6 months, extendable based on performance. Freshers and experienced candidates from computer science and IT backgrounds can apply.

Vacancy Breakdown

The notification covers 2 different positions with a combined strength of 5 posts:

• Project Assistant (Technical): Entry-level position with salary Rs. 28,000 - Rs. 41,000 per month (consolidated)
• Project Associate (Technical): Experienced position with salary Rs. 35,000 - Rs. 50,000 per month (consolidated)

IIT Bhilai reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the 5 posts based on the candidates' performance.

Who Can Apply?

For Project Assistant (Technical):

You need to satisfy any one of the following qualifications:

• A 3-year diploma in CS/IT plus 2 years of job experience in CS/IT
• BE/B.Tech in CS/IT from a recognised university
• MSc in CS/IT from a recognised university
• MCA from a recognised university

For Project Associate (Technical):

You need to satisfy any one of the following qualifications:

• A 3-year diploma in CS/IT plus 4 years of job experience in CS/IT
• BE/B.Tech in CS/IT plus 2 years of job experience in CS/IT
• MSc in CS/IT plus 2 years of job experience in CS/IT
• MCA plus 2 years of job experience in CS/IT

Desirable Skills (One or More):

• Android app development (Java)
• Full-Stack web development (ReactJS, NodeJS, Express, PHP, MongoDB)
• Familiarity with penetration testing tools like Burp Suite
• APK testing (e.g. Frida)
• Blockchain and Cryptography
• Ethereum (Quorum/Besu) and Hyperledger Fabric
• Smart contracts (Solidity, Chaincode)
• Web3 security tools like Slither, MythX, zk-SNARKs
• Scalable backends in Node.js and Python
• Knowledge of ZKPs, Layer 2, or secure infrastructure is a bonus

Age Limit

• Project Assistant (Technical): Maximum 35 years
• Project Associate (Technical): Maximum 45 years

Salary

• Project Assistant (Technical): Rs. 28,000 - Rs. 41,000 per month (consolidated)
• Project Associate (Technical): Rs. 35,000 - Rs. 50,000 per month (consolidated)
• The fellowship is purely contractual and tied to the duration of the MeitY-sponsored research project
• No TA/DA will be provided for the interview

Selection Process

Selection is based on:

1. Shortlisting based on qualifications, experience and the CV submitted
2. Interview by the selection committee at IIT Bhilai (if the number of applicants is large, the committee may further restrict the shortlist beyond minimum eligibility)

The decision of the selection committee will be final. Only shortlisted applicants will be notified via email by 28 May 2026.
