IIT Bhilai JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow for an NRB-DRDO-funded project in its Department of Electrical Engineering. The project studies a high-voltage isolated DC/DC converter for building an MVDC grid for naval power systems. This is a project appointment at the institute in Durg, Chhattisgarh, with technical research and project coordination both featuring in the notice.

The project is led by Dr. Shashank Kurm, with Dr. Shailendra Kumar as co-principal investigator. You would join a team working on the converter and its role in the naval power-system project, rather than a general departmental appointment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: Your first appointment is for six months. An extension depends on your performance and the availability of project funds.
• Project duration: The overall project runs for three years. This does not guarantee you an appointment for the full project period.
• Joining: The position is available immediately, and the selected person must join as soon as the offer is received.
• Early termination: If your performance is unsatisfactory, the fellowship can end before the agreed tenure after a 30-day notice.
• Travel: The institute will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview.
• Governing terms: Your appointment follows the institute’s and funding agency’s rules that apply to this project. The selection committee’s decision is final.
