IIT Bhilai Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai), located in Durg district, Chhattisgarh, has invited applications for 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) funded project. The research project is titled "Development, validation, and application of rate-dependent homogenized constitutive model for open-cell foams" and is led by Dr. Anshul Faye, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The initial appointment is for 12 months, extendable based on performance, with the total project duration being 4 years. This is a good opportunity for GATE-qualified mechanical engineering graduates or postgraduates interested in research on solid mechanics and additive manufacturing.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Graduate (B.E./B.Tech) or Postgraduate (M.E./M.Tech) degree in Mechanical Engineering or an allied discipline from a recognized institute or university.
• Marks: You must have First Class with 60% marks or equivalent (55% marks for SC/ST candidates).
• GATE: You must have cleared the GATE examination -- this is mandatory.
• Desirable: Sound knowledge of Mechanics of Solids and experience in Additive Manufacturing of Metals will give you an advantage.
• Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years as on 01 April 2026.
• Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• You will get a monthly fellowship of Rs. 37,000 per month.
• HRA (House Rent Allowance) is also provided, if applicable.
• This follows the standard DST/ANRF JRF fellowship structure.

Selection Process
