ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA) is engaging a Young Professional-II for its CRP-VD fish-vaccine project at Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar. The project is developing a new-generation vaccine against argulosis in carps and modifying CIFA:ArguVax-I, so the role sits where aquaculture, fish health, immunity and vaccine research meet. The work has a clear applied goal: turning research into a tool that can support healthier carp farming and reduce disease losses. This is a project-linked contractual engagement rather than a regular institute appointment.

The role is suited to a postgraduate who wants hands-on freshwater aquaculture research and is comfortable moving between laboratory work and field requirements. ICAR-CIFA has also made rural travel part of the engagement, which means your work may extend beyond the Bhubaneswar campus when the project needs sampling, coordination or field support. You should treat mobility and quick joining as practical parts of the assignment.

The notice uses a scorecard that considers your academic record, relevant research or work exposure and interview performance. Experience connected with aquaculture, fish health, immune systems or vaccine research is especially useful because it aligns directly with the project. Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement can run for three years or until the project ends, whichever happens first.
• Contract status: The position is temporary and does not create a right to absorption in ICAR-CIFA or ICAR.
• Work base: Your main place of work is ICAR-CIFA, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, with rural-area work and extensive travel possible when the assignment demands it.
• Joining: The selected person may need to join immediately, so keep your release and original records ready.
• Travel for interview: ICAR-CIFA will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in.
• Conduct: Canvassing leads to disqualification, and the Director may cancel the recruitment process.
• Citizenship: You must be an Indian citizen.
