About This Job

Apply for the Young Professional-I post in ICAR-CIFA. B.Tech or science graduates eligible. Salary: Rs 30,000/month. Walk-in: 30 Oct 2026 at Bhubaneswar.

ICAR-CIFA Young Professional-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

The ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA) at Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, is hiring a Young Professional-I for its All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Plastic Engineering in Agriculture Structures and Environment Management. This is a purely contractual project engagement, not a regular ICAR job, and selection happens through a walk-in interview at the institute.

What makes this opening stand out is the wide range of degrees accepted. Engineering graduates from Mechanical, Electronics, Plastic or Agricultural Engineering and science graduates from Fisheries, Biological or Life Sciences all compete for the same post. If you are a recent graduate who wants hands-on project experience at an ICAR institute in Odisha, this walk-in is worth your time.

Shortlisting uses a 100-mark scorecard that rewards your school and graduation marks, any research or work experience, and your interview performance. Experience is not compulsory, but every extra six months adds to your score.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: The engagement runs till 31 March 2027 and is likely to be extended; it ends automatically once the period in your offer letter is over.
  • No absorption: You get no right to a regular job in ICAR-CIFA or ICAR through this post.
  • Field work: You may have to work in rural areas and travel a lot as the project needs.
  • Joining: The selected candidate may have to join right away, so plan your current commitments accordingly.
  • Citizenship: Only Indian citizens can apply.
  • Travel cost: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
  • Conduct: Canvassing in any form disqualifies you, and the institute does not reply to interim enquiries.
  • Final say: The Director, ICAR-CIFA can cancel the process, and the Director's decision is final.

Application Submission Notes

There is no online form for this post. You simply walk in and report at ICAR-CIFA, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar-751002 by 10:00 AM on the interview day.

Bring the bio-data copies, photographs and self-attested certificates listed in the documents section. Your originals, including proof of age and caste, are checked at the venue, so do not leave them at home.
