AIIMS Bhubaneswar Urology Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar (AIIMS Bhubaneswar) is hiring project staff in its Department of Urology for an ICMR-funded clinical trial on bladder cancer. The study checks whether a repeat transurethral resection of bladder tumour can safely be skipped in patients with T1 non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer. It is a multi-centre, open-label, randomised non-inferiority trial led by Dr. Kalandi Barik (Principal Investigator) with Dr. Swarnendu Mandal as Co-PI.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): the senior science role on the trial, meant for a Life Sciences or Biotechnology postgraduate. Earlier work in the health sector, ICMR, AIIMS or a scientific organisation, especially in clinical research project management and patient handling, gives you an edge.
• Project Technical Support-III: a mid-level technical role for Life Sciences graduates with research experience or Life Sciences postgraduates. Experience in clinical research involving human participants is preferred.
• Project Technical Support-II: an entry-level technical role open to science diploma holders (MLT/DMLT) or graduates with field experience. Good data-management and MS Office skills are preferred.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: All posts are purely temporary contract appointments. Any extension depends on the project's needs, your performance review and approval by the competent authority.
• Government employees: People already in regular time-scale service in any government department or organisation cannot apply.
• Experience rule: Your experience must be in the relevant field, from a reputed institution, and gained after you earned the minimum qualification.
• No regular-post claim: The contract gives you no right to a regular post at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, the funding agency or any government department, nor a transfer to another project. You sign an undertaking on this when you join.
• Benefits: Provident Fund, pension, LTC and medical claims are not available on these posts.
• Notice period: Either side can end the contract with one month's notice; you must serve the full notice and cannot pay a month's amount instead.
• Leave: Follows the funding agency and AIIMS Bhubaneswar policy for contract staff.
• Joining: If you fail to bring your original certificates, or any mismatch shows up, the post goes to a waiting-list candidate.
