Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have passed Middle (8th) standard or an equivalent recognised by the State Government.
• Domicile: You must be a bonafide Himachali — a valid HP domicile certificate is a must.
• Fitness: You should be able to carry tools and pipes in hilly areas and must be free from colour blindness and physical disability.
• Desirable: Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh's customs, manners and dialects, and past experience in IPH/HPPWD/CPWD/PSU or an outsourcing agency serving HP Jal Shakti Vibhag.

One important point: only your Middle standard marks count for the merit list. Marks of any higher qualification are not considered, so you must attach your detailed Middle (8th) marks sheet with the form.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old, calculated as on the last date of application, i.e. 31 July 2026.

Salary

• You will get a fixed honorarium of Rs. 6,000 per month.
• The working time is 6 hours per day (part-time engagement).
• The monthly honorarium is released after you submit your attendance and self-reporting format to the Junior Engineer.
• Apart from this fixed honorarium, no other allowances are paid for this part-time engagement.

Application Fee

• The notice does not mention any application fee — there is no fee to apply.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is based on a 10-mark evaluation done by a selection committee:

1. Middle Standard Marks (6 marks): Based on your percentage in the Middle (8th) exam — for example, 50% gives you 3 marks.
2. Experience (2 marks): Six months or more of relevant experience in a Government/Semi-Government body or an outsourcing agency serving HP Jal Shakti Vibhag earns 0.5 mark for every six months.
3. Physical Test (2 marks): Held at Shimla to check that you are fit for field work in hilly areas.

If a large number of applications come in, candidates are shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio for the skill/physical test, and call letters are sent separately. No TA/DA is paid for attending the test. The final merit list is prepared strictly on the total marks scored under these three heads. If two candidates score equal marks, the one with higher Middle-exam marks (and then the older candidate) ranks higher.

1. Fill the prescribed pro-forma (printed on plain paper) and write the name of the post on top.
2. Attach self-attested copies of all required documents, including your Middle standard detailed marks sheet and Bonafide Himachali certificate.
3. Send or submit the application to the Executive Engineer, Hydrology C&M Division, Tutikandi, Shimla - 171004.
4. Make sure it reaches the office on or before 31 July 2026, up to 4:00 PM. Late or incomplete applications are rejected without any notice.
