Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. 06 of 2026 dated 11 May 2026 for the engagement of Super Specialty Teaching Faculty at ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka, Kolkata-104. Posts include Professor (11), Associate Professor (11) and Assistant Professor (5) across 12 Super Specialty Departments. This is a contractual engagement for three years, extendable or terminable as per ESIC norms. Retired faculty from Central/State Govt/PSU and private medical institutions can also apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: As per the latest National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines vide Gazette notification CG-DL-E-05072025-264399 dated 30.06.2025 (Table C & Table D).
• Registration: Valid registration with State Medical Council / MCI / NMC.
• Teaching Experience: MCI/NMC recognised teaching experience as per NMC norms for the relevant post.
• Research: Publications in indexed journals as per NMC requirements.
• Retired Faculty: Retired candidates from Central/State Govt/PSU at equivalent posts are eligible to apply.
• Private Practice: Persons currently working in recognised/approved private medical institutions fulfilling eligibility criteria can also apply.
• Candidates eligible for a higher post (Professor) may be interviewed against a lower post (Associate/Assistant Professor) and considered for placement at the upgraded level if selected.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 69 years on the date of document verification and interview.
• Maximum tenure: contract will not extend beyond 70 years of age.

Salary

• Professor: Rs. 2,60,226 per month (consolidated)
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,73,045 per month (consolidated)
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,48,669 per month (consolidated)
• Transport allowance with DA on transport allowance will be paid as per rules.
• Consolidated remuneration will be raised whenever DA rates are revised — an amount equal to DA on minimum pay of the pay level plus 20% NPA.
• No other allowances will be paid. No private practice is allowed during the tenure of service.

• All other categories: Rs. 500
• Payment Mode: Demand Draft of Rs. 500 in favour of "ESI Fund Account No. I", payable at Kolkata. The DD must be issued after the date of issue of this advertisement.
• Separate Demand Drafts are required if you apply for more than one post.
• Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Document Verification: Candidates must report between 09:30 AM and 10:30 AM at the Academic Block, 2nd Floor of ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka. Candidates reporting after 10:30 AM will not be considered.
2. Walk-in Interview: Selection is made on the basis of the candidate's performance before the Selection Board.
3. Result Declaration: Results will be published on the official website www.esic.gov.in.

How to Apply

1. Download the prescribed application form (Annexure-I) from www.esic.gov.in.
2. Print the application on A4 size paper and fill it up properly.
3. Prepare a Demand Draft of Rs. 500 in favour of "ESI Fund Account No. I" payable at Kolkata, drawn from any Nationalized/Private Bank (if applicable).
4. Attach two recent self-attested colour passport-size photographs.
5. Attach self-attested copies of: age proof, category certificate (in updated Govt of India format), educational qualifications (Matriculation onwards), Medical Council registration, MCI-recognised teaching experience certificate, research publications, PPO (for retired employees), NOC from employer (for in-service candidates).
6. Walk in on 28 May 2026 between 09:30 AM and 10:30 AM at: Academic Block, 2nd Floor, ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Diamond Harbour Road, Joka, Kolkata - 700104.

No TA/DA is admissible for joining or attending the interview/medical test.

• Provide clinical care to patients in the OPD, IPD and emergency departments
• Supervise and mentor residents, fellows and junior faculty members
• Conduct clinical research and publish papers in indexed peer-reviewed journals
• Evaluate student examinations, dissertations, and clinical performance
• Participate in departmental academic activities, CMEs, and case discussions
• Maintain detailed patient records and follow hospital quality protocols
• Contribute to policy, curriculum development, and academic administration of the department
