National Health Mission (NHM), U.T. Chandigarh has released Advt. No. NHM-UT/05/2026-27 dated 16 May 2026 for contractual doctors in Chandigarh health facilities and national health programmes. The posts include Emergency Medical Officer, Medical Officer-MCH, Medical Officer-STC (NTEP), and Medical Officer/GDMO under PMABHIM. Who Can Apply?

Common Essential Qualification for All Posts

• Degree: MBBS degree from a recognised university.
• Internship: One year compulsory rotatory internship is required.
• Registration: Registration with State Medical Council or Medical Council of India, New Delhi is required.
• Experience: One House Job of six months in any department or at least six months of post-qualification work experience is required.
• Existing doctors: Medical Officers already working on contract under NHM, U.T. Chandigarh can also apply.

Post-wise Preferred Experience

• Emergency Medical Officer: Experience in the casualty department of a recognised hospital is preferred, along with CCC+ computer course of 120 hours.
• Medical Officer-MCH: Experience in Gynae & Obs or Paediatrics department of a recognised hospital is preferred, along with CCC+ computer course of 120 hours.
• Medical Officer-STC (NTEP): One year NTEP experience and basic knowledge of computers and Nikshay are preferred.
• Medical Officer/GDMO: CCC+ computer course of 120 hours is preferred.

For reserved posts, SC/OBC certificates must be issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format. OBC claim is based on the U.T. Chandigarh State List, not BC generally.

Age Limit

• Maximum age for all posts: 60 years.
• No minimum age or age reference date is separately stated in the notice.
• The notice allows existing contractual Medical Officers under NHM U.T. Chandigarh to apply.

Salary

• Emergency Medical Officer: Rs. 72,072 per month consolidated.
• Medical Officer-MCH: Rs. 72,072 per month consolidated.

• Medical Officer/GDMO: Rs. 72,072 per month consolidated.
• Contract period: Initially up to 31 March 2027, extendable depending on performance, conduct or project duration. PMABHIM approval is noted up to 30 September 2026 and is likely to be extended.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is through a walk-in interview. The notice does not mention any written examination for these Medical Officer posts.

1. Registration: Report at the venue on 25 May 2026. Registration will be done strictly between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM.
2. Document Verification: Submit bio-data, self-attested certificate copies and an attested passport-size photograph. Bring original certificates for checking.
3. Interview: Interview will follow registration and document verification at the NHM Chandigarh venue.
