About This Job

Apply for 911 ASO, JE, AE and Legal Assistant posts in DSSSB. Graduate eligible. Apply online at dsssb.delhi.gov.in.

DSSSB has announced a massive recruitment drive for 911 vacancies across four key posts under the Government of NCT of Delhi. This is one of the largest combined examinations by DSSSB in 2026, covering roles in administration, engineering, and legal services. If you hold a Bachelor's degree, Law degree, or Civil Engineering qualification, this notification has something for you.

Post NameDepartment(s)VacanciesPay Level
Assistant Section Officer (Grade-II GNCTDSS)Services Dept, DPCC, DUSIB587Level 7 (Rs. 44,900 - 1,42,400)
Junior Engineer (Civil)Delhi Jal Board, NDMC281Level 6 (Rs. 35,400 - 1,12,400)
Assistant Engineer (Civil)Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Agri. Marketing Board33Level 7 (Rs. 44,900 - 1,42,400)
Legal AssistantDPCC, DUSIB, Law Dept, DTC10Level 6 (Rs. 35,400 - 1,12,400)
  • Total 911 vacancies spread across multiple Delhi Government departments and autonomous bodies
  • Both Group B and Group C posts are available -- 621 Group B vacancies and 290 Group C vacancies
  • No experience required for ASO, AE, and most JE posts -- freshers with the right degree can apply directly
  • Age limit varies by post -- generally not exceeding 30-35 years, with standard relaxations for reserved categories
  • Only OBC (Delhi) candidates get OBC reservation benefits -- OBC candidates from outside Delhi must apply under the Unreserved category
  • 42 PwBD vacancies are available across various posts, making this an inclusive recruitment

The selection process depends on which post you are targeting. For Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer (Civil), there is a single-tier technical examination lasting 3 hours with 200 questions worth 300 marks. For Legal Assistant and Assistant Section Officer, the exam follows a two-tier structure -- Tier-I is a qualifying exam used for shortlisting, and Tier-II determines the final merit. Both tiers are computer-based with objective-type questions. The ASO Tier-II also includes a descriptive section worth 100 marks covering essay writing, letter writing, and precis writing in English.

  1. Focus on Section-B (domain-specific) -- minimum qualifying marks apply to the subject-specific section, not the general section. Scoring well here is what separates toppers from the rest
  2. Practice negative marking scenarios -- a deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong 1-mark question and 0.50 marks for each wrong 2-mark question means random guessing can hurt your score significantly
  3. Use DSSSB's official question bank -- the board publishes previous year question papers on their website for free, covering exams from 2018 to 2025
  4. Take the mock test seriously -- DSSSB provides a mock test link on their website to familiarize you with the online exam interface before the actual test
  • Educational certificates -- 10th, 12th, graduation/degree marksheets and certificates from a recognized university
  • Category certificate -- SC/ST/OBC (Delhi)/EWS/PwBD certificate as applicable, OBC certificate must be issued on or before 25 March 2026 and Non-Creamy Layer certificate must be issued on or after 01 April 2025
  • Age proof -- 10th class certificate or birth certificate
  • Experience certificate -- required only for Legal Assistant posts (varies by department)
  • Photo and signature -- as per specifications mentioned in the application form
  • EWS certificate -- must be valid for Financial Year 2025-2026 based on income for FY 2024-2025

  • Handle administrative and clerical duties in assigned Delhi Government departments
  • Draft official correspondence, maintain records, and manage office workflow (ASO posts)
