About This Job

Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) is hiring 150 Trainees (Technical and Scientific) on a contractual basis. If you have a B.E./B.Tech in an eligible engineering branch or an M.Sc. in a relevant science subject (passed in 2023 or later, with First Division), you can apply online. The monthly stipend starts at Rs. 25,000 in the 1st year and goes up to Rs. 28,000 in the 3rd year. The last date to apply online is 6 June 2026.

Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) Technical & Scientific Trainee Recruitment 2026 - 150 Posts

Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), under the Department of Environment, Government of NCT of Delhi, has invited online applications for the engagement of 150 Trainees on a monthly stipend basis. The distribution between Technical Trainees (B.E./B.Tech) and Scientific Trainees (M.Sc.) is tentatively in the ratio of 10:1. Candidates with GATE/NET 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 scores will be preferred and merit will be drawn from those scores first.

Vacancy Breakdown

Total 150 Trainee posts — category-wise distribution:

  • UR (Unreserved): 62 posts
  • OBC (NCL) Delhi: 40 posts
  • SC: 22 posts
  • EWS: 15 posts
  • ST: 11 posts

Note: The tentative split between Technical (B.E./B.Tech) and Scientific (M.Sc.) trainees is in the ratio of 10:1. Numbers may be increased or decreased as per requirements. PwBD reservation also applies as per GNCTD/DoPT rules.

Who Can Apply?

For Technical Trainee:

  • Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) in one of these branches — Civil / Environmental / Chemical / Electrical / Mechanical / ECE / Biomedical Engineering / Water Resources / Remote Sensing / GIS / Hydrology or equivalent.
  • Must be passed with First Division on full-time regular basis from a recognised university/institution.
  • Year of passing: 2023 or later.

For Scientific Trainee:

  • Qualification: Master's Degree in Science (M.Sc.) in one of these subjects — Biochemistry / Microbiology / Life Science / Chemistry / Environmental Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Toxicology or equivalent.
  • Must be passed with First Division on full-time regular basis from a recognised university/institution.
  • Year of passing: 2023 or later.

Additional Preference:

  • Candidates with qualifying GATE/NET score of 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 will be preferred.
  • If two candidates have the same GATE/NET score/percentile, the one with a higher percentage in the qualifying exam wins.
  • Candidates who served as Trainees with DPCC earlier are not eligible for re-engagement.

Salary (Stipend)

  • 1st Year: Rs. 25,000 per month
  • 2nd Year: Rs. 26,500 per month
  • 3rd Year: Rs. 28,000 per month
  • Initial engagement is for 6 months, extendable in further spells of 6 months up to a maximum of 3 years, subject to satisfactory performance.
  • One day break is given between two engagement spells.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is purely merit-based:

  1. Merit by GATE/NET Score: Candidates with a qualifying GATE/NET score from 2023 or later are placed at the top of the merit list, in order of their score.
  2. Merit by Qualifying Exam Marks: If GATE/NET candidates are not sufficient, remaining vacancies are filled based on marks in the qualifying examination (B.E./B.Tech or M.Sc.) passed in 2023 or later.
  3. Document Verification: Selected candidates must produce GATE/NET scorecard, qualifying exam mark sheet, caste certificate (if applicable), and other documents for verification.

A wait-listed panel of candidates will also be prepared, valid for one year from the date of final result on the DPCC website.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in monitoring air, water, and noise pollution across Delhi NCR
  • Collect and analyse environmental samples in DPCC laboratories
  • Support technical staff in conducting site inspections of industries and projects
  • Prepare environmental data reports, GIS maps, and technical analyses
  • Help in implementation of pollution control plans and Environment Act compliance
  • Assist scientists in research on water resources, hydrology, and toxicology
  • Maintain laboratory records, calibrate instruments, and follow safety protocols
  • Coordinate with field teams and contribute to environmental awareness initiatives
