The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), under the Department of Environment, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, has issued a Rolling Advertisement to fill 54 vacancies across 12 posts — Senior Environmental Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Assistant Environmental Engineer, Additional Director (Scientific), Senior Scientist, Scientist-B, Scientific Assistant, Senior Lab Assistant, Assistant Law Officer, Legal Assistant, and System Analyst. Who Can Apply?

This is a deputation (including short-term contract) recruitment — only serving officers of the Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, recognized Research Institutes, Autonomous Bodies, Statutory Bodies, or PSUs can apply. Officers working in private organizations, unemployed candidates, retired staff, or those on contractual appointments elsewhere are not eligible.

Engineering Posts (Senior Environmental Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Assistant Environmental Engineer):

  • You need a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Civil/Environment/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical/ECE/Biomedical/Water Resources/Remote Sensing/GIS/Hydrology) with 2 to 10 years of experience in pollution control, depending on the post.
  • You must be holding an analogous post on regular basis, or have 5-8 years of regular service in the next lower pay level.

Scientific Posts (Additional Director, Senior Scientist L-I/L-II, Scientist-B, Scientific Assistant):

  • You need a Master's degree or Doctorate in Science with 3 to 15 years of experience in pollution control or related subjects, depending on the post.

Legal Posts (Assistant Law Officer, Legal Assistant):

  • You need a Bachelor's Degree in Law with 3 to 4 years of legal or related government experience.

System Analyst:

  • You need a Master's degree in Computer Applications/Computer Science or B.E./B.Tech in Computer Engineering, with 5 to 8 years of Electronic Data Processing experience including actual programming work.

Senior Lab Assistant:

  • You need a Bachelor's degree in Science with laboratory work experience, or at least 8 years of regular service in the equivalent pay level.

Age Limit

  • The maximum age for deputation is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
  • Your total period of deputation (including any prior deputation in another ex-cadre post) should not exceed 3 years.

Salary

  • Pay ranges from Rs. 25,500 (Level-4) for Senior Lab Assistant to Rs. 2,15,900 (Level-13) for Additional Director, depending on the post.
  • Pay and allowances during deputation will be regulated as per DoPT OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time.

Selection Process

  1. Screening of Applications: DPCC checks your eligibility, service record, and required documents (APAR dossier for the last 5 years, Integrity Certificate, Vigilance Clearance, and statement of penalties, if any).
  2. Interview: Shortlisted officers are called for an interview.

Your application must be forwarded through proper channel by your parent department. If you submit an advance copy, you must attach a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your department and an undertaking to submit the remaining documents before joining.

  • Inspect industries, water bodies, and air quality monitoring stations for compliance

  • Handle legal notices, litigation, and compliance matters on environmental violations
  • Maintain departmental records, data systems, and IT infrastructure
  • Coordinate with other government departments and PSUs on environment projects
  • Prepare technical reports and recommendations for senior DPCC management
