Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) has released a re-notification for filling 2 Technician Grade I posts on contract basis in the Division of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering. These posts are attached to the Metrology Lab and the Heat & Mass Transfer / Thermal Lab respectively, and each post requires a specific ITI trade qualification. The contract runs for 1 year with a break during the May-June vacation, and can be extended up to 2 years. This is a good opportunity for ITI-certified candidates from Kerala who want hands-on lab experience at a central university.

Who Can Apply?

For Technician Grade I - Metrology Lab:

• You need a First Class ITI certificate in Machinist trade.

For Technician Grade I - Heat & Mass Transfer / Thermal Lab:

• You need a First Class ITI certificate in Fitter / Mechanic (Motor Vehicle RAC mechanic) trade.

You must apply separately for each post, using a different application for each serial number.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 1 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Usual relaxation applies as per Government Rules and Regulations for reserved categories.

Salary

• Both posts carry a consolidated pay of Rs. 22,240 per month — there are no separate allowances since this is a fixed contract salary.
