Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is hiring 3 Assistant Professors on contract basis for the School of Management Studies in Kochi, Kerala. If you have an MBA with 55% marks and have cleared NET/SLET/SET (or hold a Ph.D), you can apply online. The last date to apply online is 15 June 2026. CUSAT Assistant Professor (Contract) Recruitment 2026 - 3 Posts

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi has released Notification No. Ad.D3/17616/2011 Vol.II dated 14.05.2026 for 3 Assistant Professor (Contract) posts in the School of Management Studies. The appointment is purely on contract basis - either till a regular teacher joins duty or for one year with a break during May-June vacation, whichever is earlier. Freshers with MBA in Marketing, Finance, Operations, HR/Quantitative Techniques or Systems are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

Minimum Qualification

• You must have an MBA with specialisation in Marketing / Finance / Operations / HR / Quantitative Techniques / Systems with 55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point scale where the grading system is followed) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
• You must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR, or similar tests like SLET/SET, OR you must hold a Ph.D Degree in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016.

Ph.D Holders Registered Before July 11, 2009

If you registered for Ph.D before July 11, 2009, you are exempted from NET/SLET/SET provided you meet ALL of these:

• Ph.D was awarded in regular mode
• Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
• Open Ph.D viva voce was conducted
• You published two research papers from Ph.D work (at least one in a refereed journal)
• You presented at least two papers at UGC/ICSSR/CSIR-sponsored conferences

Foreign University Option

If your Ph.D was obtained from a foreign University ranked among the top 500 in the world by QS, Times Higher Education (THE), or ARWU (Shanghai Ranking), you are eligible.

Salary

• For Ph.D holders: Rs. 42,000 per month (consolidated)
• For other contract teachers: Rs. 40,000 per month (consolidated)
• This is a consolidated salary - no separate DA, HRA or other allowances

Selection Process

The selection involves these stages:

1. Screening of Applications: Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on the qualifications and supporting documents submitted.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview by the selection committee.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates are verified before the appointment is finalised.

Communal Reservation Policy is followed at the time of appointment, treating University Departments/Centres as a single unit.
