CSIR-NGRI Project Associate & Research Associate Recruitment 2026

CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Hyderabad is hiring 7 project personnel across four different levels for time-bound research projects. If you hold a postgraduate or doctoral degree in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Geology, or related fields, this is your chance to work on some genuinely exciting projects — from earthquake monitoring near nuclear power plants to rare earth element research in Southern India.

• Higher pay for NET/GATE holders: PAT-I candidates with CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or equivalent national-level qualifications receive Rs. 31,000 instead of Rs. 25,000, and PAT-II candidates receive Rs. 35,000 instead of Rs. 28,000
• Diverse project domains: Positions span seismological monitoring near nuclear power plant sites in Andhra Pradesh and Haryana, watershed management in Odisha, CSIR Skill Initiative training, and rare earth element research

The selection process is straightforward — it is a walk-in interview only, with no written exam. Candidates need to report at the NGRI campus between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM on their respective interview dates. Late arrivals after 10:00 AM will not be permitted entry. Those opting for online mode must complete the Google Form and upload all documents in a single PDF before the deadline.

1. Prepare your subject knowledge well — brush up on your specialization area (seismology, geohydrology, geochemistry, or earth sciences depending on the post you are targeting)
2. Highlight relevant project experience — PAT-II and Senior PAT positions require 2-3 years of experience, so have your experience certificates organized and ready to present
3. Carry complete documentation — keep all originals plus one set of self-attested photocopies arranged neatly, as the verification happens on the spot before the interview

• Attending field works for acquiring seismological data, data processing, analysis, and allied activities (PAT-I and PAT-II positions)
• Installation, operation, and maintenance of seismic monitoring equipment at nuclear power plant sites (Posts 1-4)
• Carrying out geohydrological investigations, water quality analyses with geophysical surveys, and report writing (Post 6)
• Organising different Skill Initiative Training Programs under the CSIR-Integrated Skill Initiative (Post 5)
• Field work, laboratory analysis, data processing and interpretation, and manuscript preparation for rare earth element research (Post 7)
