CSIR NEERI Project Associate I Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) is hiring a Project Associate-I for its Water & Earth Systems Division in Nagpur. The work belongs to the project on fly ash leachability at Adani Power Limited ash-filling sites in Tiroda, identified as CNP-3008. You would join a project-based research team, with the appointment tied to the funded study.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project-linked appointment: Your engagement ends with the project. It does not create a claim to a regular position at CSIR, NEERI or another ministry.
• Funding and extension: The first offer covers the period for which funds are available. A review committee may recommend an extension after assessing your performance, but this also depends on project funds and requirements.
• Changes to tenure: The institute can extend or shorten the engagement depending on project duration, your performance and your conduct. A project appointment is therefore not an assurance of service for a fixed long-term period.
• Previous CSIR service: The overall project-service ceiling follows the applicable CSIR rules, including the six- or seven-year limit where relevant. Your earlier service in other CSIR laboratories counts towards the applicable ceiling.
• Leaving the project: Either side can end the engagement with one month's notice. If you leave without serving that notice, the notice allows one month's pay instead, subject to the competent authority's discretion.
• Confidentiality: You must sign an undertaking protecting project findings and associated intellectual property. This condition applies to the information you encounter through the research assignment.
• Moving between projects: If you already work on another project, the competent authority must accept your resignation before the new engagement begins. A higher project position also needs a fresh application rather than an automatic upgrade.
• Accommodation: You need to arrange your own accommodation during the engagement. Keep this condition in mind when considering a move to Nagpur.
• Travel: The institute will not reimburse travel for attending the offline interview. You should plan your journey with this condition in mind.
• Offer conditions: You must join within the period stated in your offer letter. The institute can cancel or withdraw an offer if it finds a discrepancy in your candidature.
