CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CSIR-CLRI), Chennai, has released Notification No. 05/2026 dated 30 April 2026 for engagement of 1 Project Associate-I on a temporary basis at the CSIR-CLRI Regional Centre, Jalandhar (Punjab). The post is for a research project in polymer synthesis and polymer composite materials. This is a walk-in interview — no online application is required. The tenure is up to 31 March 2027, extendable based on project needs.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification (any one):
• M.Sc in Polymer Science / Polymer Chemistry / Material Science from a recognised University, OR
• B.E. / B.Tech in Polymer Technology with minimum 60% marks from a recognised University/Institute
• Desirable Experience: Minimum 6 months of research or industrial experience in synthesis of polymers and polymer composite materials
• Final year/semester students who are awaiting results are NOT eligible
• Candidates who have completed total tenure of 6 years as Project Personnel in any CSIR Lab/Institute are NOT eligible

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on the date of walk-in interview (22 May 2026)
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates: 5 years; OBC candidates: 3 years (or as per Government of India instructions)

Salary

• Monthly emoluments: Rs. 25,000 per month plus HRA as admissible
• Tenure: Up to 31 March 2027, may be extended based on project requirements
• The engagement is co-terminus with the project or until the requirement exists, whichever is earlier

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based entirely on the walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Attend in person on 22 May 2026 at 02:30 pm at the CSIR-CLRI Regional Centre, Jalandhar. Reporting after 02:00 pm will not be allowed.
2. Document Verification: Carry original certificates and self-attested photocopies for verification at the time of interview.
3. Empanelment: Suitable candidates may be empanelled and selected for future project requirements.
