The Principal District and Sessions Court, Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka Judiciary) has released notification number ADMN-02/2026 dated 27 June 2026 to fill 6 Typist posts across the various courts of the Chikkamagaluru district unit. This is a permanent Karnataka government job with a 2-year probation period. If you can type in both Kannada and English and have basic computer skills, this is a good chance for you.

Within these posts, 2 are reserved for women, 2 for rural candidates, and 2 for persons with benchmark disabilities (visually impaired / low vision).

Who Can Apply?

• Education: You must have passed 2nd PUC (12th) or a three-year Diploma in Commercial Practice or an equivalent exam.
• Typing: You must hold a Senior Grade certificate in Kannada and English typewriting from the Department of Public Instruction, or a Diploma in Commercial Practice (or equivalent).
• Language: You should be able to type in both Kannada and English.
• If your 12th marks are shown in grades, get them converted to marks with a certificate from the competent authority before the last date.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age (General): 35 years
• Maximum age (2A / 2B / 3A / 3B): 38 years
• Maximum age (SC / ST / Category-I): 40 years
• Age is counted as on the last date to apply, 28 July 2026.
• Special relaxation: All candidates get a one-time extra 5 years in the maximum age (as per the government order dated 29 January 2026). Government employees, widows, ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities get further relaxation as per rules.

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 34,100 - Rs. 67,600 per month (34100-800-35700-...-67600).
• Your starting basic pay will be Rs. 34,100 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Karnataka Government rules.

Application Fee

• General category: Rs. 300
• Category 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B: Rs. 150
• SC, ST, Category-I and Persons with Disabilities: No fee
• Pay online through State Bank Collect using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI. Cash, challan, DD and money orders are not accepted.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is based on three things added together:

1. Marks in your qualifying exams: Your total percentage marks from the qualifying exams are counted.
2. Computer Typing Skill Test (15 minutes): You type a given dictation passage on a computer. This skill test carries up to 100 marks, and you must score at least 50 marks to qualify.
3. Interview: Carries 5 marks. For every 1 post, the top 5 candidates (1:5 ratio) are called for the interview.

Shortlisted candidates also go through document verification before final selection.
