The City Civil Court, Bengaluru has released a notification for 88 posts of Driver and Peon under the Karnataka Subordinate Courts (Ministerial and Other Posts) Recruitment Rules. This includes 7 Driver posts and 81 Peon posts. There is no written exam — selection is based on your qualifying marks and an interview. Candidates who can read and write Kannada and have a 10th pass certificate can apply.

Who Can Apply?

For Driver Posts

• Qualification: You must have passed SSLC (10th) or an equivalent examination.
• Licence: You must hold a valid Heavy Vehicle Driving Licence.

For Peon Posts

• Qualification: You must have passed the 10th Standard or an equivalent examination.
• Language: You must be able to read and write Kannada.

Age Limit

• You must be at least 18 years old as on the last date of application.
• General Merit: maximum 40 years.
• OBC (Category II-A, II-B, III-A, III-B): maximum 43 years.
• SC / ST / Category-I: maximum 45 years.
• Extra relaxation: Persons with benchmark disability and widows get up to 10 years; ex-servicemen get 3 years plus service period. An additional one-time 5-year relaxation applies as per the Karnataka Government order.

Salary

• Driver: Pay scale of Rs. 34,100 to Rs. 67,600 per month.
• Peon: Pay scale of Rs. 27,000 to Rs. 46,675 per month.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Karnataka Government rules.

Application Fee

• General Merit (GM): Rs. 300
• Category II-A, II-B, III-A, III-B: Rs. 150
• SC / ST / Category-I / Persons with benchmark disability: No fee
• Payment mode: Online only, through SBI Collect (Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card)

The fee once paid is not refunded. Pay only in the name of "Registrar, City Civil Court, Bengaluru".

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on the following:

1. Driver — Eligibility Test (50 marks): Candidates are shortlisted for interview at 25 times the number of vacancies based on the eligibility test marks.
2. Peon — Qualifying Marks: Candidates are shortlisted for interview at 10 times the number of vacancies based on the percentage of marks in the qualifying exam.
3. Interview (10 marks): The final selection is based on the marks secured in the interview.
4. Document Verification: You must produce original certificates for education, age, category and identity.

If two candidates score equal marks, the older candidate is placed higher in the merit list.
