The Office of the District Judge, Boudh has released Advertisement No. 02/2026 to fill 12 vacancies in the Judgeship of Boudh. These posts are on a regular basis, subject to the final result of a pending writ petition before the High Court of Orissa. Who Can Apply?
Common Requirements (All Posts)
- Qualification: You must have passed the +3 examination (or an equivalent qualification) from a recognised university.
- Computer Diploma: You must have at least a Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised institute.
- Language: You must be able to speak, read and write Oriya and have passed a test in Oriya equal to the M.E. standard.
- Other: You must be of good character, sound health, and have not more than one living spouse if married.
For Junior Typist
- You need a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute in English through a computer system.
For Stenographer Grade-III
- You need a minimum speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in typewriting in English through a computer system.
Age Limit
- You should be above 18 years and below 42 years as on 23 July 2026 (the last date for applications).
- Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC / ST / SEBC candidates.
- PwD and Ex-Servicemen candidates get relaxation as per the rules in force.
Salary
- Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist & Junior Typist: Level-4, Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month.
- Stenographer Grade-III: Level-7, Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month.
- You will also get usual DA and other allowances as admissible by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

Selection Process
Candidates up to 20 times the vacancy in each category are called for the written test based on career merit. The selection stages are:
- Written Test (Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist): English (100 marks, 2 hours), Arithmetic (100 marks, 1 hour), General Knowledge (100 marks, 1 hour). You need 35% in each paper to move ahead.
- Written Test (Stenographer & Junior Typist): English is qualifying (100 marks, 2 hours). You need 35% in English to be called for the skill test.
- Skill Test (Stenographer & Junior Typist): Shorthand & Typewriting test (50 marks) for Stenographer; Typewriting test (50 marks) for Junior Typist.
- Computer Science Test (Practical): 100 marks, 1 hour. Qualifying cut-off is 50% for General and other categories, and 40% for SC/ST.
- Viva-Voce Test: 45 marks for Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist; 35 marks for Stenographer and Junior Typist.

- Attach all self-attested documents — HSC, +2, +3 certificates and mark sheets, Diploma in Computer Application, and other required proofs.
- Attach two character certificates and two self-addressed envelopes stamped with Rs. 56 each.

Responsibilities
- Handle file processing and maintain court records
- Prepare copies of judgments, orders and other court documents
- Take dictation in shorthand and prepare typed transcripts (for Stenographer)
- Type letters, notices and official documents through the computer system
- Enter case and record data into court software systems
- Assist judicial officers with daily clerical and administrative work
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence of the court
