BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), an autonomous institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has announced walk-in recruitment for 8 project positions across 6 research projects. Who Can Apply?

For Project Research Scientist-II (Rs. 67,000 + HRA):

• Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG) in Life Sciences from a recognised university.
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field.
• Experience required in bacterial/virus pathogen culture, PCR primer design, single-plex and multiplex PCR/qPCR assay development, and in-silico genome analysis.

For Project Research Scientist-I (Rs. 56,000 + HRA):

• Post Graduate Degree (including integrated PG) in Life Sciences from a recognised university.
• Desirable: Experience in cell culture, protein purification, animal handling, recombinant DNA technology, and first-author research paper with impact factor 5+.

For Project Research Scientist-I (Medical) (Rs. 67,000 + HRA):

• MBBS / BDS / BVSc or equivalent degree from a recognised university.
• At least 3 years of post-qualification experience working with Randomized Controlled Trials in cardiovascular health.
• Desirable: Project management in clinical settings, SPSS, MS Excel skills.

For Project Technical Support-II (Rs. 20,000 + HRA):

• 12th in Science with DMLT or equivalent, plus 5 years of research lab experience, OR
• 3-year graduate degree in relevant subject with 2 years of research lab experience.

For Project Technical Support-I (Rs. 18,000 + HRA):

• 10th Standard with DMLT or equivalent, plus 2 years of research lab experience, OR
• 3-year graduate degree in relevant subject with 1 year of research lab experience.

For Assistant Data Manager (Rs. 50,000):

• PG in Computer Application / CS / Data Science with 2 years of clinical data management experience, OR
• Graduate in CS/CA with 4 years experience, OR
• Graduate in any discipline with 6-month computer diploma and 5 years experience.

• Project Research Scientist-II: 40 years
• Project Research Scientist-I: 35 years
• Project Research Scientist-I (Medical): 35 years
• Project Technical Support-I and II: 28 years
• Assistant Data Manager: 35 years
• Age relaxation: SC/ST — 5 years, OBC — 3 years, PwBD (UR) — 10 years, PwBD (OBC) — 13 years, PwBD (SC/ST) — 15 years.
• Central Government servants get age relaxation up to 5 years. Ex-servicemen as per Govt. of India rules.
• The crucial date for age, experience and qualification is the date of walk-in interview for each post.

Salary

• Project Research Scientist-II: Rs. 67,000 per month + HRA
• Project Research Scientist-I: Rs. 56,000 per month + HRA

• Assistant Data Manager: Rs. 50,000 per month (no HRA mentioned)

• All positions are short-term contract tied to project tenure. Extension depends on performance and project continuation.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

3. Written Test / Skill Test / Interview: The selection panel will conduct a written test, skill test or interview as appropriate for the role.

• Identify constant and evolution-prone gene regions in emerging and zoonotic pathogens (PRS-II)
• Develop and validate single-plex and multiplex PCR-based assays using real-world samples
• Carry out protein expression in CHO/Expi293 mammalian cell lines and immunological assays (PRS-I)
• Support clinical trial implementation including screening, enrollment, randomization and follow-up assessments (Medical PRS-I)
• Manage clinical data, query resolution, software validation and Data Management Plan (Assistant Data Manager)
• Handle autoclaving, buffer preparation, stores management and lab cleaning (Project Technical Support)
• Maintain study logs, regulatory files, source documents and participant confidentiality
