ICAR-DKMA Senior Consultant Grade-II (Media/PR) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research - Directorate of Knowledge Management in Agriculture (ICAR-DKMA) has released Advertisement No. DKMA/427154/2026 for one Senior Consultant Grade-II (Media/PR) post. The consultant will work at ICAR Headquarters, New Delhi, to strengthen media outreach and strategic communication for ICAR's agricultural research and farmer welfare initiatives. This is a high-paying contractual position with Rs. 1,45,000 per month plus 3% annual increment, ideal for experienced media professionals and journalists with knowledge of agriculture and rural development.

Essential Qualification

• Master's degree in Media / Journalism / Mass Communication or related subjects from a reputed university.

Desirable Qualification

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in any field

Experience Required

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience (after acquiring the essential qualification) in agriculture, rural development, or social sciences with reputed government or non-government development agencies or research organisations
• Preferred: Experience with reputed media houses as a reporter, editor, or journalist, or experience in teaching and research with published work, policy papers, or media articles
• Desirable expertise: Knowledge of agriculture-related policies, rural development, sustainable agriculture, gender and women-related issues, and experience in public communication and media coordination

Age Limit

• Maximum age: Below 50 years as on the date of advertisement

Salary

• Monthly emoluments: Rs. 1,45,000 per month (initial fixed remuneration)
• Salary range: Rs. 1,45,000 to Rs. 2,65,000 (with 3% annual increment after base year, per Niti Aayog Office order)
• TDS will be deducted as per Government of India Income Tax rules
• TA/DA: AC-2 Tier train fare and Rs. 1,500 per day for tours on official deputation

The appointee will NOT be entitled to ICAR Provident Fund, CGELIS scheme, medical facilities, residential accommodation, or other regular staff benefits.

Selection Process

Selection is based on weightage of marks across qualification, experience and interview:

1. Graduation marks: 15 marks
2. Master's Degree marks: 15 marks
3. PhD Degree marks: 15 marks
4. Additional Degree/Diploma in relevant field: 5 marks
5. Experience (above minimum 10 years): 2 marks per year, maximum 20 marks
6. Interview (including output assessment based on published work): 30 marks

Total: 100 marks. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a walk-in interview at ICAR-DKMA. Interview date will be informed by email only. No online interview option is available. No TA/DA paid for attending the interview.

• Promote visibility of ICAR's technologies, innovations, and success stories from ICAR institutes, agricultural universities, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs)
• Coordinate with media organisations and ICAR institutions for effective information dissemination
• Facilitate media coverage of major ICAR events, programmes, and institutional activities
• Prepare media monitoring reports and impact assessment documents
• Handle any other duty assigned by the competent authority as required
