National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), working under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, has released notification for 60 Deputy Manager (Technical) posts on direct recruitment basis. Selection will be made on the basis of valid GATE 2026 score in Civil Engineering. The post carries all-India service liability, so you must be willing to serve anywhere in India. There is no separate written exam by NHAI — your GATE 2026 score decides the merit.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University or Institute on or before the closing date of the online application.
• GATE Score: You need a valid GATE 2026 score in Civil Engineering discipline.
• Nationality: Indian citizen.
• SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS candidates must produce community certificates in the prescribed central government format, otherwise they will be considered against UR vacancies only.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years as on the closing date of advertisement (15 June 2026).
• Age Relaxation:

Salary

• Pay Scale: Level 10 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500 per month)
• Pre-revised: Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15,600 - Rs. 39,100) + Grade Pay of Rs. 5,400
• You also get Central Dearness Allowance (CDA), HRA and other allowances as per Government of India rules.
• Service Bond: You will sign a bond of Rs. 5.00 lakhs to serve NHAI for a minimum of 3 years from the date of joining.

Selection Process

Selection is based purely on GATE 2026 merit:

1. GATE 2026 Score in Civil Engineering: Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of valid GATE 2026 score.
2. Document Verification: Original certificates of qualification, age, caste, GATE score card, and PwBD certificate (if applicable) will be verified.
3. Medical Fitness: Standard pre-appointment medical examination.

If candidates having the same GATE score tie, the candidate born earlier will be placed higher in the merit list.

• Monitor quality control, progress and contract compliance of highway works in the field
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors and state authorities for project execution
• Prepare technical reports, estimates and project documents as per NHAI guidelines
• Conduct site visits, inspections and safety audits of ongoing highway projects
• Handle land acquisition follow-up, utility shifting and environmental clearances
• Maintain records, MIS data and progress reports for senior officers and the headquarters
• Take up any other duty assigned in connection with highway development work across India
