BRIC-National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (formerly NABI and Center of Innovative & Applied Bioprocessing) is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, based at Knowledge City, Sector-81, Mohali. The institute has invited applications from Indian Citizens for filling up 4 administrative and technical positions (6 posts total) on direct recruitment basis via Advt. No. NABI/ADMIN/1/(001)/2026-02/Rectt. Selected candidates will work on a permanent basis with a two-year probation period.

Who Can Apply?

For Sr. Private Secretary (Level-8):

• Qualification: Graduate degree with MBA in any discipline from a recognized Institute/University
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of regular service in Level 6/7 (or equivalent) in Office Management, Administration, or Secretarial work at Central/State Government, Universities, PSUs, or Government-funded research bodies
• Skills: Good speed in English/Hindi shorthand and typing, good communication skills
• Desirable: Knowledge of modern management practices, computer applications, stenography, drafting and record-keeping

For Assistant Engineer - Civil & Electrical (Level-7):

• Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. / AMIE in the relevant discipline (Civil or Electrical Engineering)
• Experience: 3 years of experience in civil/electrical works, campus infrastructure planning and maintenance in Central/State Government, Universities, PSUs, or Government autonomous bodies in Level 7/6 or equivalent
• Desirable: Knowledge of CPWD, NBC codes, AutoCAD, and liaison with departments like Pollution Control Board and Urban Development Authority

For Senior Technical Assistant (Level-6):

• Qualification: BVSc / B.Tech / MSc / B.Pharma in Biotechnology, Food and Nutritional Sciences, Technology, Instrumentation, Agricultural Biotechnology, or equivalent
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Post Code 268004: Lab work — running and maintaining NGS Platforms, Microscopy platforms
• Post Code 268005: Farm operations — field experiments, plant breeding, crop management

Age Limit

• Sr. Private Secretary: Not exceeding 35 years
• Assistant Engineer (Civil/Electrical) and Senior Technical Assistant: Not exceeding 30 years
• Age and experience will be reckoned as on 30 days from the date of publication of advertisement in Employment News
• Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 5 years for ST, and additional relaxation for PwD and Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India norms
• No age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against Unreserved (UR) vacancies. No upper age limit for existing employees of the institute or DBT.

Salary

• Sr. Private Secretary: Level-8 (Rs. 47,600 - Rs. 1,51,100)
• Assistant Engineer (Civil/Electrical): Level-7 (Rs. 44,900 - Rs. 1,42,400)
• Senior Technical Assistant: Level-6 (Rs. 35,400 - Rs. 1,12,400)
• Plus DA, HRA, Transport Allowance, LTC, medical expenses and other allowances as admissible to Central Government employees
• Selected candidates will be governed by the National Pension System (NPS) of the Central Government

Selection Process

1. Merit-Based Shortlisting: Conducted by the Screening Committee based on academic credentials and relevant experience
2. Written Test: For shortlisted candidates (the institute may fix qualifying marks)
3. Skill Test: Mandatory for engineering and technical posts
4. Interview: Applicable for the Sr. Private Secretary post and any other post as decided by the Selection Committee
5. Document Verification: All claims will be verified against original documents before appointment

A reserve panel may also be prepared based on the interview outcome. BRIC-NABI reserves the right to fill or not fill any position. No TA/DA is admissible for attending the test or interview.

• Sr. Private Secretary handles complete secretarial work for the Executive Director including appointments, meeting arrangements, tour programmes, and confidential documents
• Liaison with Central/State Ministries, Departments, and Organizations on behalf of the ED
• Assistant Engineer (Civil) prepares project estimates, designs, and tender documents for civil works, STP, ETP, estate works, and campus maintenance
• Assistant Engineer (Electrical) manages operation and maintenance of electrical items, HVAC, and prepares tender documents for electrical works
• Follow CPWD and NBC construction codes and use AutoCAD for design work
• Senior Technical Assistant (Lab) runs and maintains NGS platforms, microscopy platforms, and other research equipment
• Senior Technical Assistant (Farm) handles field experiments, plant breeding, crop management, and research farm operations
• Maintain records, attend meetings, and prepare reports as assigned by the Competent Authority
