BHU has invited applications for one Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) post to work on an ICMR-funded research project titled "Copy Number Variations (CNVs) Based Novel Diagnostic Biomarkers of Human Male Infertility." The position is purely temporary and will run only as long as the project lasts, which is a maximum of one year. Candidates with hands-on experience in semen sample analysis or NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) data work have an edge — this is a good opportunity for life science and genetics graduates who want research exposure in reproductive medicine.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a First Class Postgraduate Degree (including integrated PG programmes), OR a Second Class Postgraduate Degree along with a PhD, OR a First Class four-year Graduate Degree in Engineering/IT/Computer Science.
• Preferred Experience: Experience with human semen sample examination and NGS data analysis will be preferred, though it is not compulsory.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit for this post is 35 years.
• Age Relaxation: OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation. SC/ST, Persons with Disabilities, and female candidates get 5 years relaxation.
• Among equally qualified candidates, SC/ST applicants will be given preference as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• You will get a fixed fellowship of Rs. 56,000 per month plus 20% House Rent Allowance (HRA).
• This is a consolidated stipend paid from the ICMR-sponsored project funds, not a regular pay scale.

Selection Process

The selection for this post is based on a single stage:

1. Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by email for an online or physical interview. No TA/DA will be paid if you are called for a physical interview.
