Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Minimum qualification: You must have passed SSC.
• Higher qualification marks: HSC (10+2), engineering diploma/degree, fire fighting courses, NCC certificates, and basic computer course/CCC can add extra marks as per the notification.
• Fire training benefit: Fire Fighting Elementary Course, government-approved fire course, ITI Fireman, Diploma in Fire Technology, or Fire degree can carry extra marks.
• Computer knowledge: Basic computer course in MS Office / CCC carries 10 marks in the educational marks system.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 32 years old as on the last date of application.
• AMC employees: The upper age limit does not apply to candidates already working in AMC service, as mentioned in the notification.
• Auxiliary Task Force volunteers: AMC volunteer service can give age relaxation equal to completed satisfactory service, with certificate from the Chief Fire Officer.
• Maximum cap: With all eligible relaxations, age should not be more than 45 years on the last date, except for AMC service candidates.

Salary

• Fixed salary for first 3 years: Rs. 26,000 per month.
• After satisfactory performance, pay moves to Level 2 - Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 with basic pay and eligible allowances as per rules.
• Allowances after regular pay placement will be as per AMC and Gujarat government rules.
• Selected candidates must complete the required 6-month training decided by the Municipal Commissioner and pass the training examination.

Physical Standards

Minimum Physical Measurements

• Height: Minimum 165 cm
• Weight: Minimum 50 kg
• Chest: 76 cm normal and at least 81 cm expanded, with 5 cm expansion
• Medical fitness: Vision should be 6/6, and colour blindness or physical disability that affects fireman duty can disqualify the candidate.

Physical Efficiency Test

• Long Jump: Minimum 3.80 metres
• High Jump: Minimum 1.00 metre
• 800 metre run: Minimum standard of 200 seconds for regular candidates
• 200 metre swimming: Minimum standard of 300 seconds
• You must clear all 4 physical events and score at least 40% overall in the physical efficiency marks.

Selection Process

AMC will first check the required physical measurements. Candidates who clear that stage will move to the physical efficiency test and educational marks assessment.

1. Physical Standard Test: Height, weight, chest, eyesight, and medical suitability are checked.
2. Physical Efficiency Test: Long jump, high jump, 800 metre run, and 200 metre swimming are scored.
3. Merit Marks: Physical test marks are combined with educational qualification, fire course, NCC, computer course, and AMC volunteer service marks.
4. Document Verification: AMC will verify original documents before final appointment.
5. Medical Examination: Final medical fitness will be checked before joining.
6. Training: Selected candidates will undergo 6 months of training and must pass the training test before regular duty as per AMC rules.

If applications are very high, AMC may decide to shortlist or conduct a written / online exam as per the recruitment rules. Final selection powers remain with the AMC Staff Selection Committee / Municipal Commissioner, and their decision will be final.
