Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: You need a postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the department you are applying for, from a recognised university or institute.
- Registration: NMC/MCI/MMC or State Medical Council registration is a must before you join, if selected.
- Super-speciality departments (marked with *): you can apply with the base PG degree. For example, Cardiology needs MD (General Medicine/Paediatrics), Neurosurgery needs MS (General Surgery), and Medical Oncology needs MD (General Medicine/Paediatrics). Doctors who already hold a DM/M.Ch in the relevant subject can also apply.
- Trauma & Emergency: MD in Emergency Medicine, or MD in General Medicine, or MS in General Surgery, or MD in Anaesthesiology, or MD in Respiratory Medicine, or MS in Orthopaedics, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- You must have already passed your qualifying degree exam and completed its tenure on or before the closing date. If your result comes after the closing date, you will not be eligible.
- You should not have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency under the Residency Scheme in any government medical institution.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 45 years as on the closing date (18 July 2026).
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (only for reserved vacancies).
- PwD candidates: up to 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC, and 15 years for SC/ST.
Salary
- You will get Rs. 67,700 per month (Pay Level 11, Cell 1 of the 7th Pay Commission).
- You will also get usual allowances, including NPA (Non-Practising Allowance) if applicable.

Selection Process
Selection is mainly through interview at AIIMS Nagpur:
- Shortlisting (if needed): If a large number of applications come in, candidates may be shortlisted based on qualification, additional qualification, and experience, or through a written test.
- Interview: The final selection is based on an interview held at AIIMS Nagpur. The interview date will be put up on the AIIMS Nagpur website. The interview may continue to the next day, so be ready to attend on the following day too.
- Document Verification: Bring your filled application form (Annexure I), all original certificates, and one set of self-attested photocopies on the interview day.
- Medical Fitness: Appointment is subject to you being declared medically fit by the competent Medical Board.

Responsibilities
- Handle inpatient and outpatient care in your assigned department under senior doctors
- Assist consultants during ward rounds, procedures, surgeries, and emergencies
- Monitor admitted patients and update their treatment charts and records
- Work in rotating shifts, including night and emergency duties as scheduled
- Guide and supervise junior residents and interns in clinical work
- Take part in teaching, case discussions, and academic activities of the department
- Follow hospital rules, infection control, and safety guidelines at all times
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the relevant discipline from a recognised university or institute, with NMC/MCI/MMC or State Medical Council registration before joining.
Preferred Qualification
DM/M.Ch in the relevant super-speciality discipline.
Required Skills
Clinical and patient management skills in the relevant medical specialty.
