All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur (AIIMS Nagpur) has released a notification to engage 1 Medical Officer (AYUSH) Ayurveda on a contract basis. AIIMS Nagpur is an autonomous institute under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), run by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. This is a purely contractual post for 11 months and will not lead to a regular job. If you are an Ayurveda doctor who wants hands-on hospital experience at a top central institute, this role is a good fit.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: A degree in Ayurveda from a recognised University, Statutory State Board, Council, or Faculty of Indian Medicine (or an equivalent recognised under the relevant council).
• Registration: You must be enrolled on the Central Register of Ayurveda or a State Register of Indian Medicine.
• Experience: You need 3 years of clinical and/or teaching experience in a recognised hospital or teaching institution.
• Preferred: A postgraduate degree (MD/MS Ayurveda) from a recognised University, Board, Council, or Faculty of Indian Medicine.

Age Limit

• You should be between 21 and 35 years old as on the last date of application (15 July 2026).
• Age relaxation and reservation will be as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• You will get a fixed consolidated pay of Rs. 75,000 per month.
• This is a consolidated amount. You will not get the allowances or facilities given to regular faculty members of AIIMS Nagpur.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS: Rs. 1,000 (non-refundable).
• SC / ST / PwD: No fee.
• Payment mode: Pay through NEFT to the AIIMS Exam Fee account at Bank of Baroda, AIIMS Nagpur Campus, and attach the payment receipt with your application.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these steps:

1. Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted based on their educational qualification and relevant experience.
2. Screening Test (if needed): If a large number of applications are received, a screening test may be held to shortlist candidates.
3. Document Verification: Your application, qualification, experience, category, and age are checked by a committee before the interview.
4. Interview: Eligible candidates are called for an interview at AIIMS Nagpur. No TA/DA will be paid for the interview.

• Examine and treat patients using Ayurveda methods in the OPD and wards.

• Coordinate with other departments for patient referrals and follow-up care.
• Take part in health awareness and AYUSH promotion activities.
