Service Conditions and Caveats

• Appointment route: This is deputation, including short-term contract, for a Group A gazetted and non-ministerial post in the Office of UPSC.
• Initial tenure: The assignment starts for 3 years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
• Overall deputation cap: The combined period in this and an immediately preceding ex-cadre Central Government post is ordinarily limited to 4 years.
• Feeder-cadre restriction: Departmental officers who are directly in line for promotion cannot be considered for deputation, and deputationists cannot claim consideration for that promotion.
• Pay regulation: Pay will be fixed under the Department of Personnel and Training rules applicable to deputation, including amendments issued later.
• Availability: Your parent office must be able to spare your services immediately if UPSC selects you.
• Candidature: The notice does not allow an applicant to withdraw after applying.
