Service Conditions and Caveats

• Appointment basis: The post is filled on deputation, including short-term contract, and remains a General Central Service, Group A, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial position.
• Tenure: The initial deputation period is 4 years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Earlier ex-cadre deputation service in a Central Government organisation or department counts towards this ceiling.
• Feeder-category restriction: Departmental officers who are directly in line for promotion cannot be considered for deputation, and a deputationist cannot claim consideration for promotion to this post.
• Pay regulation: The selected officer's pay will be fixed under the applicable Department of Personnel and Training deputation rules and subsequent amendments.
• Immediate availability: The forwarding authority should send the application only when the officer can be released promptly after selection.
• Official record: The application must be supported and certified by the forwarding authority; applications sent outside the proper channel may not receive consideration.
