Sambalpur University Odia Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

Sambalpur University has issued Advertisement No. 88/ODIA dated 20 May 2026 for engagement of Guest Faculty (Assistant Professor) in the P.G. Department of Odia. The posts are sanctioned under Higher Education Department Order No. 4477/HE dated 01.02.2024 and additional positions under Order No. 4478/HE dated 01.02.2024. The engagement is walk-in only — no online or postal application — and selection happens on the same day at the venue.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Educational qualifications as per UGC Regulations 2018 for Assistant Professor in Odia.
• Preferred: Candidates with NET or Ph.D in Odia are given preference.
• If NET/Ph.D not available: Applicants with a good academic record at the Post-Graduate level may also be considered.

Salary (Honorarium)

• Candidates with Ph.D: Rs. 1,000 per class, subject to a maximum of Rs. 60,000 per month.
• Candidates without Ph.D: Rs. 750 per class, subject to a maximum of Rs. 45,000 per month.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is purely through walk-in interview. There is no written exam.

1. Career Assessment: Your academic record from Bachelor's to PG and beyond is evaluated.
2. Research Degree Evaluation: Ph.D, M.Phil and research publications carry weight.
3. Demo Class: You will deliver a sample class on an assigned topic.
4. Publications Review: Books, journal papers, and other academic work are checked.
5. Viva-Voce (Interview): Conducted as per University norms.

Preference will be given to NET qualified candidates.

• Guide students on Odia literature, language and research-related queries
• Participate in departmental academic activities and meetings when called
• Maintain class attendance and submit teaching reports to the Head of Department
