BBMB Apprentice Recruitment 2026 — 20 Posts

Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) is hiring 20 Apprentices across three trades — Lineman, Electrician and Gardner — under the O&M Division, Jamalpur (Ludhiana) for the training session 2026-27. If you have passed 10th class with ITI in the relevant trade (or 8th class for Gardner), you can apply online. The last date to apply is 11 June 2026. There is no written exam and no interview — selection is purely on merit basis.

Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), under the provision of Apprenticeship Act 1961, has released Advertisement No. 01/2026 dated 19 May 2026 for engaging 20 apprentice trainees in various trades at O&M Division, Jamalpur (Ludhiana). Out of the 15 Lineman posts, 7 posts will be filled immediately; the remaining 8 will be filled as and when vacancies arise within the next 6 months. Applications must be submitted online through the NAPS portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. No other mode of application is accepted.

Who Can Apply?

For ITI Trade Apprentices (Lineman & Electrician)

• You must have passed 10th class with minimum 40% marks from a recognised Board.
• You must possess a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade, issued by NCVT or SCVT.
• You must have completed the relevant ITI course.
• Aadhaar Card is compulsory for online registration.

For Non-ITI Trade Apprentices (Gardner)

• You must have passed 8th class from a recognised school or its equivalent.
• Preference will be given to candidates residing near the Substation.

Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under Apprenticeship Act 1961 in any other establishment are NOT eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• Age limit will be as per Apprenticeship Act 1961 and its amendments from time to time.
• Generally, minimum age is 14 years for apprenticeship training; maximum age varies by trade.

Stipend

• Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as per the Apprenticeship Act 1961 and its amendments.
• For ITI passed apprentices, stipend is typically Rs. 7,700 per month or higher as per current government norms.
• For Non-ITI Gardner trade, stipend is paid as per the Apprenticeship Act provisions.

Application Fee

• No application fee mentioned in the notification.
• Registration is done free of cost on the NAPS portal.

Selection Process (No Written Exam, No Interview)

Selection is purely on merit basis. There is no written test and no interview.

1. Online Application: Submit your application through the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) during the application window.
2. Merit List Preparation: Merit list will be prepared from the apprenticeship portal database (NAPS/NATS).
3. Marks Weightage (for ITI Apprentices): 30% weightage to 10th class marks + 70% weightage to ITI marks in the concerned trade (Total: 100 marks).
4. Marks Weightage (for Non-ITI Apprentices): As per the Apprenticeship Act 1961.
5. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of documents.

Preference Rules

• 25% seats of total available seats for each trade are reserved for candidates with residency certificate of the concerned districts where the Grid Sub Station is located.
• If reserved seats remain vacant, they go to candidates with residency certificate of the State where the Grid Sub Station is located.
• If still vacant, remaining seats are filled through open merit.
• Grid Sub-Stations area for O&M Division, Jamalpur: District Ludhiana for Jamalpur Substation, District Barnala for Barnala Substation.
• If two candidates have same marks, the older candidate gets preference. If date of birth is also same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier is considered first.

2. Register yourself on the NAPS portal with your Aadhaar Card (compulsory).
3. For ITI trades (Lineman & Electrician), fill the application under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
4. For Non-ITI trade (Gardner), fill the application under NAPS as well.
5. Upload required documents: 10th mark sheet, ITI certificate & marksheet, category certificate (if applicable), residence/domicile certificate (if applicable), Aadhaar Card.
6. Submit your application before 11 June 2026.
