Selection Process

All three posts follow a merit-based selection process combining academic marks, experience, and interview. For the Director of Homoeopathy, academic qualifications carry 75 marks, experience carries 10 marks, and the interview is worth 15 marks. For both Transport Officer and Works Foreman, the split is 65 marks for academics, 20 marks for experience (awarded on a slab basis depending on your years of service), and 15 marks for interview. The Board may also decide to conduct a written exam or CBT at a later stage if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer homoeopathic healthcare services across West Bengal (Director of Homoeopathy)
  • Manage and supervise regional health transport operations and vehicle fleet maintenance (Regional Health Transport Officer)
  • Handle overhauling, repair, and maintenance of both petrol and diesel vehicles in the health department fleet (Works Foreman)
  • Coordinate with district-level health officials and transport units for efficient service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with departmental guidelines and government regulations

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

BHMS + PG in Homoeopathy with 10 years experience (Director); Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with 2 years workshop experience (Transport Officer & Works Foreman)

Preferred Qualification

Ph.D. in Homoeopathy, Research experience or Publication works in Homoeopathy (for Director post); B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering (for Transport Officer & Works Foreman)

Required Skills

Homoeopathy registration with State/Central Council (Director); LMV/Transport category driving licence, vehicle overhauling and maintenance experience (Transport Officer & Works Foreman)

Director of Homoeopathy: Level 21 Rs. 1,23,100 (ROPA 2019) / PB-5 Rs. 37,400-60,000 + GP Rs. 8,700 (ROPA 2009); Transport Officer & Works Foreman: Level 12 Rs. 35,800-92,100 (ROPA 2019)

Exam Pattern

Selection is based on a combined score of academic marks, experience marks, and interview. No written exam has been announced at this time (though the Board reserves the right to conduct one).

Director of Homoeopathy (Total: 100 Marks)

  • Academic Marks: 75 — BHMS degree (40 marks based on percentage), PG in Homoeopathy (20 marks based on percentage), Ph.D. in Homoeopathy (5 marks), Research experience (5 marks for up to 5 projects), Publications in Indexed Journals (5 marks for up to 5 papers)
  • Experience Marks: 10 — 10 years minimum required (120 months)
  • Interview Marks: 15

Marks deduction: 0.5 marks per additional attempt in BHMS/PG, maximum 5 marks deduction for 10+ attempts.

Regional Health Transport Officer & Works Foreman (Total: 100 Marks)

  • Academic Marks: 65 — Diploma in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering (65 marks based on percentage)
  • Experience Marks: 20 — Awarded on slab basis: Less than 36 months (4 marks), Less than 48 months (8 marks), Less than 60 months (12 marks), Less than 72 months (16 marks), 72+ months (20 marks)
  • Interview Marks: 15

  • Homoeopathy Registration: Director post requires registration in Part A of State Register (WB) or Part I of Central Register of Homoeopathy
