Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, has released Advertisement No. 07 of 2026 to fill Principal cum Professor and Vice Principal cum Professor posts at ESIC College of Nursing, Joka, Kolkata on urgent contract basis. The selection is through walk-in interview only — no written exam. Selected candidates should be willing to join immediately. The engagement is for a period of one year on contract basis.

For Principal Cum Professor, Nursing College

• Essential Qualification: M.Sc (Nursing) from a recognised university
• Experience: Total 15 years of experience with M.Sc (Nursing), out of which 12 years in Collegiate program
• Desirable: Ph.D (Nursing)

For Professor cum Vice Principal, Nursing College

• Essential Qualification: M.Sc (Nursing) from a recognised university
• Experience: Total 13 years of experience with M.Sc (Nursing), out of which 10 years in Collegiate program
• Desirable: Ph.D (Nursing)

Candidates must be registered with the West Bengal Nursing Council before joining the post, if selected.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 69 years as on the walk-in interview date (25 May 2026)
• Experience will be counted as per the eligibility criteria of the post as on the date of walk-in interview

Salary

• Principal Cum Professor: Rs. 89,780 per month (consolidated remuneration)
• Vice Principal Cum Professor: Rs. 84,420 per month (consolidated remuneration)
• No other allowances will be paid in addition to the consolidated remuneration
• The engagement is for a period of one (01) year on contract basis (no extension beyond one year)

Application Fee

• All other categories: Rs. 500
• Payment mode: Demand Draft in favour of "ESI Fund Account No. 1" drawn on any scheduled bank payable at Kolkata
• The Demand Draft must be issued after the date of issue of this advertisement
• Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Walk-in Registration: Register for interview on 25 May 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
2. Document Verification: Walk-in with original documents on 25 May 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Verification will be done up to 10:30 AM with original certificates.
3. Personal Interview: Final selection will be purely on performance in the personal interview before the Selection Board, held at Conference Hall, 2nd Floor, ESI-PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College, Joka.

Security Deposit: Selected candidates will need to deposit Rs. 20,000 (refundable on completion of contract and "No dues certificate") through Demand Draft at the time of joining.

2. Fill in the duly completed application form with photograph pasted in the slot provided
3. Prepare a Demand Draft of Rs. 500 in favour of "ESI Fund Account No. 1" payable at Kolkata (skip if exempted)
4. Attach the verification slip (Annexure-I) and self-attested copies of required documents
5. Walk-in with original documents on 25 May 2026 at ESI-PGIMSR MC and ESIC Hospital & ODC (EZ), Joka, Kolkata-700104 by 9:00 AM
6. Apply separately for each post if applying for both (using separate forms and Demand Drafts)

• Lead and administer the nursing college as the institutional head (Principal) or deputy head (Vice Principal)
• Teach and supervise B.Sc Nursing and post-basic nursing students as per INC curriculum
• Plan, develop, and execute the academic calendar and clinical training programmes
• Mentor faculty members and conduct faculty development activities
• Coordinate with hospital authorities for clinical postings of nursing students
• Monitor research projects, publications, and quality improvement initiatives
• Maintain accreditation records and ensure compliance with INC/State Nursing Council norms
• Represent the college in academic committees and external nursing forums
