National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) is hiring a Research Associate Grade III for its Technical Resource Centre under the Department of Health Research Centre for Evidence Based Guidelines. The position sits with the Geriatric Unit in the Department of Psychiatry at the Bengaluru campus and supports a focused programme that turns research evidence into practical guidance. This is a project appointment, so your work will be tied closely to the centre's research plan rather than to a regular institute cadre.

Your research background may include mental-health disorders, psychopharmacology or behavioural interventions. A published systematic review or meta-analysis is useful because the centre needs work that can move from a broad search to a defensible evidence rating. Teamwork and strong writing are central to this role, as the output must be useful to researchers and guideline developers rather than remain a collection of papers.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: The first appointment is for six months and may be renewed for the next six months after a performance review. The notice also states that continuation can run up to a maximum of three years, subject to the project and satisfactory work.
• Project link: The role is funded through the Extra-Mural DHR Centre for Evidence-based Guidelines and remains connected to that project.
• Selection attendance: If called, you must join or report 30 minutes before the scheduled written test or interview, whether it is held online, offline or in hybrid mode.
• Travel and stay: NIMHANS will not pay TA/DA for attending the test or interview, and hostel accommodation is not available to project staff.
• Current project staff: Anyone already working on a NIMHANS extramural or intramural project must provide a No Objection Certificate from the Principal Investigator.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the essential conditions does not by itself guarantee a call; the institute may shortlist candidates and will contact them by email.
