- Qualification: You need an MBBS degree from a university or institution recognized by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification approved by the government.
- Medical Registration: You must be permanently registered with the Rajya Chikitsa Parishad (State Medical Council), Uttarakhand.
- Foreign MBBS Graduates: If you got your MBBS from a foreign university, you must have cleared the FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) conducted by the National Board of Examination.
- Domicile: Reservation benefits (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) are available only to Uttarakhand domicile holders. You must have a valid Uttarakhand domicile certificate to claim reservation.
- Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen. Tibetan refugees who came to India before 01 January 1962, and persons of Indian origin from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania who have migrated to India with the intention of permanent settlement are also eligible — provided they have a government-issued eligibility certificate.

- Ex-servicemen (Uttarakhand): Age relaxation as per Uttarakhand government rules — maximum age limit relaxation of up to 3 years beyond service period
- Uttarakhand women: 10 years relaxation in upper age limit
- EWS: No additional age relaxation beyond general category

Selection Process
The selection for UKMSSB Medical Officer is not based on a written exam. Instead, you are evaluated on the basis of your MBBS marks, additional qualifications, work experience, and a Viva Voce (interview). Here is the marking scheme out of 100 marks:
- MBBS Exam Marks — 20 marks
- 50% to 54.99% — 05 marks
- 55% to 59.99% — 10 marks
- 60% to 64.99% — 15 marks
- 65% or more — 20 marks
- Additional Educational Qualification — 10 marks
- PG Degree in Clinical Subject (Ophthalmology, Surgery, Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT, Psychiatry, Radiology, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Anesthesia, Pathology, etc.) — 10 marks
- Diploma in Clinical Subject — 05 marks
- Work Experience — 20 marks
- 4 marks for each complete year of experience (maximum 20 marks for 5 years)
- Note: Only experience from State/Central/Autonomous government hospitals, ESIC/ESI hospitals, and government medical colleges is valid. Private sector experience is not counted.
- Viva Voce (Interview) — 50 marks
Total: 100 marks. The final merit list will be prepared based on the total marks scored across all four components.

Responsibilities
- Handle outpatient and inpatient medical cases at ESI dispensaries and hospitals in Uttarakhand
- Diagnose and treat patients using allopathic medicine, prescribe medications and recommend further tests
- Manage medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed
- Keep detailed medical records of patients, including case histories, treatment plans, and follow-up notes
- Work with nursing staff and paramedical teams to deliver quality healthcare to ESI beneficiaries
- Follow government health protocols, standard treatment guidelines, and infection control procedures
- Assist in public health programs, immunization drives, and health awareness campaigns
- Prepare medical reports and submit them to the department as required
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
MBBS from a recognized university with permanent registration from Uttarakhand Medical Council (Rajya Chikitsa Parishad). Foreign MBBS graduates must clear FMGE.

Exam Pattern
There is no written exam for the UKMSSB Medical Officer (Allopathic) 2026 recruitment. The selection is based on merit and Viva Voce (interview), with a total of 100 marks. Here is how the marks are distributed:
- MBBS Exam Marks — 20 marks: You get 5 marks for 50-54.99%, 10 marks for 55-59.99%, 15 marks for 60-64.99%, and 20 marks for 65% or above.

- Work Experience — 20 marks: 4 marks per complete year of government hospital experience, up to a maximum of 20 marks (5 years). Private sector experience is not counted. Only experience from State/Central/Autonomous government hospitals, ESIC/ESI hospitals, and government medical colleges is valid.
- Viva Voce (Interview) — 50 marks: This carries the highest weightage in the selection process.
The final merit list will be prepared based on total marks across all four components.
