GBPUAT Junior Research Fellow (Post Harvest Process & Food Engineering) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Department of Post Harvest Process & Food Engineering at GBPUAT, Pantnagar, has invited applications for 1 Junior Research Fellow post under the DST-SHRI funded project "Development of millet-derived specialty ingredients for smart protein products through novel approaches" led by Dr Umesh C Lohani. This post is reserved for the OBC category, but general/other category candidates may be considered if no suitable OBC candidate applies. This is a good opportunity if you are interested in food science research and have experience in extrusion or enzymatic processing.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: B.Tech/M.Tech/Integrated M.Tech/MSc in Food Process Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science, Food Biotechnology, Post Harvest Technology, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Additional Requirement: You must also have qualified GATE or NET (UGC/CSIR/ICAR), lectureship (Assistant Professorship), or an equivalent national-level exam conducted by agencies like DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, or NISER.
  • Preferred: Candidates with experience in extrusion processing, enzymatic processing, and product development will get preference.
  • Category: This position is reserved for OBC candidates.

Salary

  • You will get a fellowship of Rs. 37,000 per month, plus HRA as applicable.
  • The fellowship amount is fixed by the funding agency, DST-SHRI, and does not include any additional government pay-scale benefits since this is a project position, not a regular university post.

Selection Process

The selection has the following stages:

  1. Document Screening: Your application and CV will be screened against the eligibility criteria.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates must appear for an interview at the Department of Post Harvest Process & Food Engineering, GBPUAT, on 22 July 2026 at 10:00 AM. No separate interview letter will be issued, and no TA/DA will be paid.
